#10 Hero of her Story - Conversations with my Friends

from Dare Greatly Podcast

Today I'm speaking to how you can feel more connected to your young adult children and ultimately have the relationship that you want to. I' invited my daughter onto the show and we speak to the mother/daughter dynamic. This is a relationship that has potential for genuine and sustaining fulfillment, but also huge potential for going awry for many women; mothers and daughters are still working through out-dated ideas for how mothers 'should be' and how daughters 'should be.' I coach a lot of women on their relationships with their mothers. And, I coach a lot of Teens on their relationship with their mothers. Learn how to develop the capacity to hold space for a profound love and a profound grief at the same time as your daughter grows up and moves away. We experience a paradox of giving our all to motherhood, while learning to let go. It's about trusting our children that they have everything inside of them they need to live life from the dictates of their agency and the Life that is calling to them.
