LML/CPL Lecture: 'To Die or not to Die: Assisted Dying in England and Wales - The current legal, moral and societal issues' The Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Sciences (LML) and the Centre for Public Law (CPL) hosted Saimo Chahal to deliver a lecture on 7 March 2017.Saimo Chahal is a leading figure in public law, human rights and international law. She has acted as the solicitor in the leading assisted suicide cases of R (Jane Nicklinson and Paul Lamb) v The Ministry of Justice & the DPP & The Attorney General UKSC [2013] and R (Debbie Purdy) v The Director of Public Prosecutions (2009).
