This week I’m talking to Lex Balladon.

Lex is a professional wakeboarder having been ranked in the top six female wake boarders in the UK for the duration of her competitive career, and was also crowned the Masters National Champion in 2017. She’s a BWSW (British Water Ski and Wakeboard) Level 3 Wakeboard Coach who coaches privately but has also worked with the BWSW, coaching the GB Squad on their Development Camp scheme. In this podcast Lex gives us a real insight into the world of wakeboarding and working with sponsors through social media, videos and photo shoots. I think you’ll be shocked at some of the obstacles Lex has faced in such a male centric sport….I was!

Lex is super passionate about getting more women into her sport. She’s a real advocate and for over a decade she has been coaching ladies and girls events around the country creating Wake Daze, which we’ll talk about during the podcast. It’s teaching yoga at one of those events that I first met Lex - we’ll hear how she believes yoga is integral to helping her stay fit and healthy in body and mind. As my first non yoga teacher guest (gasp!), I hope you’ll find it interesting to hear her perspective.

Please let Lex know what you thought of this episode - you can contact her through her insta (@lexballadon) or email: [email protected]

The Soul Mammas Podcast Nicole De Leon: Podcast Host and Fired up Soul Mamma In a world where so many women have shed past notions of what being a mom looks like, who can listeners turn to for real talk on soulful motherhood? Through this weekly podcast, host, Nicole De Leon, a long-time surfer, teacher, yoga instructor, adventurer and now new mother, seeks to candidly talk about the realities of modern motherhood, especially as it affects the pursuit of one’s own interests while remaining a soulful parent. In this podcast, guest moms will share inspiring stories of how they persisted in living out their truest passions and purpose in spite of – and often as a result of – adversity and struggle. Nicole’s hope is that through this podcast mothers will be encouraged to believe in their dreams and prioritize joyful lives in order to teach their children to do the same.
