10. Male Mental Health, Doing the ‘Deep Work’, Self Sabotage and How James Helps Men Heal and Transform Their Life
from Wholeness with Hannah · host Hannah Baldwin
This week Hannah is joined by Men’s work coach and founder of the online men’s community, One Brotherhood, James Oliver. Hannah and James dive into a beautiful discussion around the intricacies of male mental health, and James explains how he got into this work, after his own battle with his mental health. James describes his work as “helping men rediscover who they were before the world got its hands on them” - by going beneath the surface level, and guiding men through what he calls ‘the DEEP work’, he helps them tackle the root cause of issues such as shame, low-self-worth, self-sabotage and perfectionism, in order to achieve radical growth, healing and transformation in all areas of their lives. James believes that our external world is a direct reflection of our internal world, starting with our relationship with ourselves; this is one of the foundational principles that informs his work, and allows him to help men all over the world find inner-freedom and become self-led leaders in life, love and business. This episode ties into the theme of ‘Movember’, and one that Hannah feels very passionately about - she thinks it is so important for men to feel safe to be themselves, to feel and to heal. Sending love to anyone going through a tough time, or battling with their mental health. See the links below for any help or guidance from James, and other communities.
