Knee pain from squatting happens due to a variety of factors. Squat frequency, intensity, volume, and technique all play a part in anterior knee pain. Here we are going to address technical considerations of the squat and knee pain to assist in reducing it. From a technical point of view, the acuteness of the knee angle at the bottom of the squat may be a contributor to anterior knee pain. There are a variety of things that may increase the acuteness of the knee angle including: Depth Bar Placement Eye Gaze Tension Balance Torso Position Footwear In this episode we discuss why these factors influence knee pain and how to address them to reduce knee pain from squatting so you can continue squat comfortably and get stronger without injury.
