#10: Nevin Riches - Life Mixed-Race during The Troubles

This episode is with Nevin Riches, a 48 year old man from Cookstown. My mum and Gerard had told me about Nevin as a potential guest on the podcast because we had similar stories growing up - both being mixed race in the North of Ireland and from the same area. The conversation we had was extremely vulnerable, emotional and for me it was hard hitting to hear some of the experiences Nevin had growing up mixed-race during The Troubles in Ireland. We speak of the changing times and how to get through the trauma of those experiences. Nevin moved to Manchester at 16 to play football for Man City and the rest is history...
