10 Steps to Clarity

from Lifting the Lifter's Podcast · host Jessica Rydalch

Jarred gave me a carwash pass for Mother's Day, and after lots of lugging, shuttling, and adventuring, one day I noticed how bad my car needed to be washed, specifically the windshield.  It was so dirty! So I pulled through the carwash, and when I got out, it was like a breath of fresh air! Being able to see through that dirty window, it was like a whole new world was opened up! It reminded me of the same experience I'd had when I put a new screen protector on my phone after the previous one had been cracked and damaged.  Same experience. A breath of fresh air. The word I would use to describe both of these experiences is CLARITY Clarity generally refers to how clear, understandable, or free of confusion something is. I want to discuss mental clarity, because when our head is cluttered and full, we don't show up as our best, can't think and perform clearly, and don't connect with others as well. Mental clarity refers to a state where your thinking is sharp, focused, and not clouded by confusion or distraction. Here are 10 Steps to Clarity: Clear the mental clutter. Get enough sleep. Practice mindfulness or meditation. Exercise regularly. Eat clean and hydrate. Prioritize and plan. Take a digital detox. Talk it out. Optimize the time of day. Get Present. Sometimes clarity comes with just a carwash or a new screen protector, but mental clarity, when the world opens up and our minds open up, may be a little different. When we hike, the higher we are, the further we can see. Sometimes we are stuck in a rabbit hole and spinning in circles. So we need to get a bigger picture and a greater perspective. Try just one of these 10 steps and see if you experience some clarity in your day today!
