The Protocol Guild was announced at the beginning of 2022 by Stateful Works, the project behind Ethereum cultural artifacts like the Beacon Book and the 1559 NFT Series, which have collectively raised hundreds of ETH for public goods funding. The Protocol Guild is pioneering a new mechanism for funding public goods, which employs "a split contract which distributes donated application tokens over a vesting period to a self-curated list of Ethereum protocol contributors." Trent also dives into his background as an architect, which ties into a fascinating discussion of designing networks and systems.
