10: What Keeps People From Experiencing True Compassion and How We Can Heal, with Lynn Carroll

from Finding Brave

Is our culture becoming less compassionate? If so, are there ways that we can develop more compassion in our daily lives so we can experience more joy, love, fulfillment, and connection? In this episode of Finding Brave, special guest therapist Lynn Carroll addresses these probing questions and shares her in-depth expertise on compassion and healing. Lynn Carroll is a psychotherapist who specializes in the mind/body connection. In private practice for 25 years and also a consultant for substance abuse treatment centers throughout Florida, Lynn works on an intuitive, therapeutic level that helps support her clients' ability to work more deeply within themselves. She has worked on trauma teams and helped thousands of people process through challenging obstacles such as addictions, depression, anxiety, life challenges, marital issues, relationship problems, career challenges, grief and loss of a loved one. And Lynn has been a tremendous agent of change in Kathy's person and professional life (and in the lives of her clients and course members) as well over the past 10 years. As you'll hear, the only way to be compassionate is to have it towards your own soul. But we don't need to completely reinvent ourselves to start living more loving, meaningful lives. We just need to begin with a bit more love and tolerance for the deeply painful experiences that are universal to all human beings.
