from Central Church

2010-09-19-0830 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning September 19th, 2010 in the 8:30 service. Scripture: Philippians 1:12-14; Psalm 105:16-19; Jeremiah 48:11; Acts 16:22-26; James 1:2 Topic: Suffering Notes: - What impact has your reaction to your problems had on others? - God used people in trouble to write His word: Paul wrote as a prisoner chained to a praetorian guard - If it doesn’t come out of pain, it doesn’t produce - We all have trouble in our lives; somebody else’s pain is bigger - God’s plan is to bring Jesus into glory, that we follow Him, and that the gospel be increased - Statistics of Paul’s opportunities to minister to guards - American Christians are not suffering as those in other nations - People are looking for an example of the believer - Joseph... why am I going through this? - Do I believe what He said? Do I act like I believe? - What will I do in these chains? - We would rather be delivered from than developed in this - Moab at ease, settled on his dregs (not poured from vessel to vessel) - We want to be left alone but need to poured out again and again until nothing is left but wine - Paul & Silas praised the Lord anyway; there are prisoners all around... the greatest impact you’ll have is when you lift Him up
