101: Do you know what's worse than training people and having them leave?

from Blue Collar Leadership · host Mack Story

When conducting leadership development training at organizations that haven't done anything like this in the past, I'm often asked by concerned managers and leaders, "What happens if we invest in training and developing the people and they leave?" I always say, "That's a great question. But, I've got a better question. What happens if you don't invest in training and developing the people and they stay?" What matters most is the development level of the people in the organization, not the development level of those who choose to leave.
