102. Enjoying Life with Scott Dorey

This week, I am joined by my friend, Scott Dorey. Scott and I met at Jiu Jitsu about a year ago and I could tell he was a great guy. Scott started his BJJ journey at 49 years old, which demonstrates that it is never too late to better yourself. In this episode, we learn about Scott's life and journey, which is inspiring to say the least. Unfortunately, Scott lost his father at the age of 13, which brought hardships to his adolescent years. A short while after, Scott developed an addiction to drugs and alcohol, which were a result of his rockstar lifestyle and also losing his father. Fortunately, Scott explains how he successfully overcame his addiction to alcohol (he is 18 years sober). The beauty in this story is Scott's comeback; instead of wallowing in his circumstances, Scott decided that he was going to improve his life not only for himself, but also his family. Today, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, doing CrossFit/BJJ, fishing, and overall, just enjoying his life. Scott is an a testament that it is NEVER too late to turn your life around.
