102 - It’s the Little Things

“Enjoy the little things in life, because one day, you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.” Kurt Vonnegut In episode 102, Genny spoke about the importance of the little things; those moments that made a big impact on you. Those moments that brought a smile to your face when you thought about them. She shared an example of enjoying a delicious meal and looking forward to dessert and coffee, only to be disappointed by a less than delicious cup of coffee. And unfortunately, that cup of coffee is all she would remember from that dinner. It’s the follow-through, the attention to all the little things that make the difference. It can be something as simple as a phone call to a friend to say, “Hi, just thinking about you” or smiling at a stranger. It’s paying for the order for the car behind you in the drive thru or paying a compliment to someone. Those gestures may seem like little things to you but they are big things for the person on the receiving end.
