102 - Maddie Jackson, The Creative Luminary

from Church & Other Drugs · host Church & Other Drugs

Greetings congregation! This week Besh and Jed start things off by talking about the morals and ethics of darknet drug dealers, why 13 Reasons Why is actually making kids kill themselves, and we have a new Patron! (Looking at you, Rich Maggio!) Then in a very special interview, we bring on Maddie Jackson! Aside from being Besh's fiance, Maddie is one of Jed's old friends in sobriety. Maddie tells her story of growing up the child of alcoholics, how she dealt with adulting at an early age, passing finals in blackouts, moving to amphetamines and opiates, and finally getting sober through a spiritual experience involving a priest, a grill, and a psych ward. Then she talks about her new business, The Creative Luminary, where she helps people by creating and facilitating unique 'Spiritual Treatment Plans' tailored to different needs. She's an amazing woman and we believe she's going to do great things! Madeline hopes to create the space for individuals to explore what spirituality means to them and provide resources to help them expand upon these experiences. She emphasizes authenticity and the importance of making conscious decisions that bring individuals in closer companionship to themselves, others, and the Universe. "We are living in an era, where people are waking up to the understanding that life seems to be missing something. People are internally struggling and this is manifesting outwardly in all types of unwanted or harmful behaviors. We are desperate to become more connected to the creativity and Divine within. If we are not learning how to do this, as humans, we will continue to suffer. I am dedicated to helping others find this connection. There is wisdom in truly understanding the battle is within us, not outside us. The spirit is longing to be expressed and when given the opportunity, truly wonderful and meaningful experiences transpire, which bring us in closer companionship with one another.” Madeline Jackson Learn more about your ad choices.
