When we try to achieve peace through the abolition of meaning, the outcome is not a peace worth living. Multiculturalism, as it is presented in our contemporary world, offers a deal of this type: it tempts with a freedom from conventions, without disclosing the cost: meaning. Have you not heard it cried from the rooftops: "Can't we just get along." Somehow the voice of one that poses to be begging for acceptance turns out to be the one bearing the sword enforcing uniformity. It's not that we don't want peace.
