This year marks 30 years since the Spice Girls were formed and as a podcast literally named after a Spice Girls album track, we simply could not let this milestone slip away without some kind of celebration! Joel and David are breaking tradition and going all the way back to 1996 to revisit the legendary debut album "Spice". Geri, Mel B, Emma, Melanie C and Victoria completely changed the pop landscape when they crashed into the charts with 'Wannabe' that summer - quickly becoming one of the most recognisable songs in the world! This multi-million-selling album was a global success, spawning further chart-topping hits like 'Say You'll Be There', '2 Become 1', 'Mama' and 'Who Do You Think You Are?'. We track their trajectory from a couple of 'raw Spices' to global pop stars in this short span of one album.
