Grace is costly to man because it lays the axe to the root of all his cherished possessions and achievements, for it destroys his man-made religion, for it is in the replica of Christianity that religion acts in self-justification, which is defending human interpretations of True Christianity, rather than releasing Christ to form True Indwelt Christianity in the believer!
