His career began with a newspaper article about youth apprenticeship, after searching for a school to attend since most schools were closing the shop classes. Lundy got into the program at 18 and was a certified Red Seal Carpenter at 22 and working in the industry. After a few years he decided to go back to school for Teachers College with the hope to teach construction. Teaching to Lundy was also about being a mentor, guiding people through the construction industry is as important as learning the skills. Lundy discusses how important safety is and how the school refused to provide him with the correct safety gear and equipment to teach the students and a visit from the Ministry of Labor determined there were over 20 safety violations and eventually Lundy was wrongfully dismissed by the School Board.
