Overview - Why The Master Paid The Temple Tax. Matthew chapter 17 verses 24-27. There was a dispute brought to Peter about why Jesus does not pay the temple tax. Peter comes to Jesus and is about to ask Him about it, but Jesus answers Peter before He asks. Jesus ends up paying the temple tax after He had not done so. But why? Very important message for any Christian, because Jesus ends up paying this tax, even though He did not have to. In my message today, I discuss a difficult Christian principle that Jesus demonstrated for us in this situation.
