103: Will AI Keep Writing Your Books When You're Gone? – A Conversation with John Dalton

In this episode, we speak with author and MacDowell fellow John Dalton about marketing excellent novels that seem to lack mass appeal, emergent developments in AI writing, and the future of authorship. John is the author of two novels: Heaven Lake, which won the Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Barnes and Noble Discover Award for fiction in 2004, and The Inverted Forest, which was selected as a best book of the year by The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and The Wall Street Journal's "Book Lover" in 2011. He’s currently teaching at the University of St. Louis, Missouri while working on a third.
