With ASCO upon us, Michael and Josh squeeze one more episode of their regular schedule to bring you an important update on gastric cancer. For context, the 5 year survival rate for metastatic gastric cancer is 6%, similar to that of pancreatic cancer. Despite improvement in survival due to the addition of nivolumab to chemotherapy (Checkmate 64), few therapies have significantly changed it's overall prognosis.This week Michael and Josh explore the addition of a LAG-3 inhibitor (relatlimab) to the SOC nivolumab and chemotherapy to see if gastric cancers fortune may change. Synergistic evidence has been seen in melanoma, but melanoma has a completely different biology..
