Other sugar alcohols like xylitol and maltitol also had similar benefits. This study is showing how erythritol in particular seems to have a connection with cardiovascular events. It can be hard on your heart. Dr. Martin used to caution people about sugar alcohols. The thing is they're not really sugar and they're not really alcohol.
