His work is vulnerable and spirited, shooting straight for the heart. He grew up playing drums as the second oldest of nine children and began writing songs as a teenager, after a family acquaintance gave him a guitar. Two decades later, as a husband and father, he used that same guitar while recording Night Reminder.
