Cindy architects, designs, and develops Birst cloud data warehouses, analytics, and dashboards as the President and Founder of Agile Dragon Consulting, LLC. As a Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Scrum Product Owner, she also advises companies on how to add agility into all aspects of their businesses, from data warehousing, analytics, and BI, to development, to marketing and sales projects, and beyond. Currently, her projects include work for a major league sports team and for a major auto-related retail chain. As an Adjunct Professor at SUNY - Farmingdale College, Cindy currently teaches the Senior Project course, a capstone course for the Programming and Computer Information Systems major. She teaches students how to develop projects using Agile methodology, organizes them into groups, guides them to select a project, and advises them on the best path to completing a fulfilling and meaningful software development project. She has previously taught other courses on Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, and Project Management. Prior to forming her own company, Cindy advised customers on architecture and developed projects as a Technical Account Manager and Sr. Cloud Warehouse Architect at Birst, an Infor Company. Among her customers were a major league sports team, a cloud payroll company, a venue ticket-sales management company, a pharmaceutical company, and others. Cindy is passionate about turning data into information and excels at finding unique solutions to seemingly intractable problems. Her expertise includes Birst, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SQL Server Analysis Services (OLAP Cubes), SQL Server Integration Services (ETL), SQL Server Reporting Services, MS Access, Database and Data Warehouse Analysis and Design, HTML, Javascript, and CSS. She also dabbles in C# and Python when time allows. Cindy’s career in IT spans more than 20 years, with industry experience in software, finance, mortgage banking, insurance, and HR. She began as an IT generalist at Strategic Workforce/Legal Solutions (formerly The Goodkind Group), where over eight years she advanced from Tech Support to the Director of MIS. In this position she handled desktop and server support and administration; software configuration; database design, management and development; reporting; and web design and development. She has an MS in MIS from Boston University and an MS in Psychology from Long Island University - C.W. Post. In her spare time (ha!) Cindy loves knitting, video gaming, Netflix marathons, hanging out with her husband, sons, daughter-in-law, and friends, and being cuddle attacked by her two dogs.
