105: Fostering Kids ❤️ Fostering Families

Our kids are not okay. Social isolation, technology use, and mental health conditions like anxiety and depression are all spiking for children and teens. The US Surgeon General's Advisory on Protecting Youth Mental Health conveys, "the challenges today's generation of young people face are unprecedented and uniquely hard to navigate. And the effect these challenges have had on their mental health is devastating" and has had an outsized impact on youth in foster care. In the U.S. nearly half a million children are in foster care every year, many of whom experience trauma, instability, separation, loss, and neglect.
