Overview - Jesus Warns Of Offenses. Matthew chapter 18 verses 6-9. Offenses will come, but Jesus says “Woe to those by whom they come”. Jesus teaches us a couple of very important ideas about offenses and sin in this section of scripture. A few weeks ago, in my sermon, His Character Is Love, Jesus gave an example of how Christians are not supposed to live offensively towards those of the world so they would see Christ living in us for the purpose of salvation, and today He teaches Christians about what happens to those who try to cause His children sin. If they do, it would be better for them if a millstone were tied around their necks and them thrown into the depths of the sea.
