Below is a short description of what’s coming up and important links and/or announcements: Watch These Announcements on Video Here Mr. Gray’s Class Podcast Class Website No School January 17th and 18th Global School Play Day (Play all day)- Wednesday February 2nd Open House Thursday, March 31st No School February 18th and 21st (Teacher Work Day and President’s Day) Read Across America Day (Read all day)- Wednesday March 2nd Running Club Registration Multiplication and Division Facts Practice (Check your student’s progress report) Spelling Words - The kids will receive the words Tuesday, practice during the week, and take the quiz on Friday. Follow along with our Wordament! Reader’s Workshop We will continue our character studies unit. The kids will start to grow ideas about characters and notice patterns with characters. Writer’s Workshop We will continue our Baby Literary Essay Unit. The kids will write 2 more drafts about the book Each Kindness and we will try to study and add transitional phrases to help frame evidence. Math What happened to math class? We will move on to our next unit: Division. We will study division as fair sharing/equal groups and we will go outside and practice division as jumps on a number line. Social Studies We will look at the basic structure of the federal government. Science Our shipment is on hold so we will study the life cycle of plants.
