It's a missed number. Real good. You're real good, you're real good right? You're real good.

You're Gaia. You're real good. You're real good, you're real gi. You're real good, you're real good.

You're real good, you're real good. You're real good, you're real good. You're real good. You're a real good.

Ladies and gentlemen, hello and welcome to another edition of America's Best Worth Canadian Sports Podcast. That's right. Real good show is back outta the gate for another week in his episode number 106. 106?

Did you get to that first tag? I think that sounds right. I think I'm pretty sure. I think I'm outta know.

I don't ever pay attention. I trust you. Justin Morris at with me once again with me as always is Stefan Hack, John Kohler. And, uh, Stefan, you looked directly at the eclipse this morning, so...

How are your eyes? How are your eyes feeling? I... Well, I didn't look at the...

I looked at the sun at like 7.30 in the morning. I was going for a run with Rob. Oh, okay. The eclipse in structural 10, so I just looked at the sun.

Oh, alright. Oh, well, that's, you know what though, that's actually a smart idea to look at the sun to see what it looks like before the eclipse. And I can compare it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, like a reference point.

Yeah, that's a smart idea. Point of contrast, yeah. Exactly. So, the eclipse was, uh...

Some of my work made like a pinhole camera. And so we looked through the pinhole camera and you just see this tiny little dot and then the dot is like covered by another slightly smaller dot. Okay. Um, but then someone had the glasses, so you could look through the glasses directly to the sun.

And that was actually pretty cool. So like the original one sounded like if you're, if you buy one of those like zit band-aids. It's like you have a dot on your face and you just put like a slightly bigger dot over the dot. Yeah, yeah.

It was cool in that like, it was cool in that like that's how like probably the ancient greeks used to have to do it. Right, right. Yeah. So it was like, I felt, uh, I felt some like kinship with, uh, with my ancient greek brothers.

Yeah. Like like the glasses, the glasses were like easier to just look at the sun. Right. Like with the pinhole camera, you have to be looking, you're looking away from it.

And you have to let the sun hit the pinhole and then you have to look into one side of it. And then it's like this tiny little dot. Right. It's like, I could just draw that with a marker.

Well, that's what I thought. I thought one of the stupid, stupid or jokes people were making on Twitter today was like, oh, so like before they had all this technology, did just like whole villages go blind during the eclipse. And I'm like, yeah, no, no, they didn't. No one was going to sit there and just let their eyes burn out of their skull.

First of all, it's not really that visible to the naked eye. Like it is, but not really. And they wouldn't have even known the eclipse was happening. It wasn't like they would have had like, our communities wasn't running around the whole village being like, oh, tomorrow, guess what?

The sun would be like all of a sudden, it just went dark during the day. Yeah, but it didn't even go that dark. It would have taken, but I think like, keep it like there's like no artificial light sources back then either. Yeah.

And so like, oh, you know it is three. It would have been noticeable. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. And like if the sun is like the source of like your energy and like, it's like the one constant in your life as like a cave person. And then all of a sudden it's like, oh, it's not, uh, the sun is usually there. And like right now it's not.

Okay. I'm just going to go like just just continue hunting and gathering. Yeah. I mean, I guess that's true.

Like the cave people of Oregon today might have all lost their sight. Yeah. But I feel like everywhere else is probably fun. I didn't look directly at it.

I didn't even, I was asleep. If you go to Google trends and search for the phrase, uh, eyes hurt. There's like a huge spike today. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. At first I can use that Google trends. And I was like, well, that's a different, uh, that's a different.

No, that's very progressive. But, um, I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, that's why that guy quit.

Yeah. Um, but yeah, if you search eyes hurt, I'll send it to you guys right now. It's, it's very funny. There's like a very noticeable spike today.

There was that one, there was that one picture that was going around. Did you see that of, uh, it was a sky on Instagram and it, it is, Oh, where's eyes? Well, yeah, his eyes were like completely bloodshot. Like almost like bloodity.

And he was like, the caption was something like, you shouldn't fight the sun or something like that. But that was like, is this real though? Like it seemed like it almost too unreal or, but the kid, it was a kid. And I work with kids every day.

And, uh, there are definitely kids who'd be like, well, even if my eyes go fucked up, it'll be funny Instagram. So yeah, I think it's probably real. Like kids are stupid. Oh, that's for sure.

I just love how it's like hyped up. It's like one of the most amazing things in your lifetime. It will only happen maybe once or twice ever. So incredible.

But like don't look at it. You can never see it. Just know that it's happening. Like, I don't know.

It's much like hope, Justin. You can't, you can't see it, but you have to feel it. Yeah, I feel it. You have to have faith that the eclipse is happening.

Exactly. I really wanted a clip. Well, hey, just have faith. I thought it would get like slightly darker, but like it didn't at all.

And it was more like a clau, like it's darker when like a cloud passes over. Yeah. It was kind of a, it was a bit of a gym. I definitely thought I would know when it was happening because everything would become so dark.

And that didn't really happen at all. Yeah. I think too, it's just like one of those things piggybacking off of what you were saying, Justin. Like the, like everyone, yeah, they're saying like, oh, it's a once in a lifetime event.

Like whatever. Like no one will even remember it happened. Like no one at the end of this year, you know, like even that Thanksgiving. Like, oh, what do you think before this year?

Well, I was pretty thankful for that eclipse. It's not even a clip. So that was pretty fucking sweet, pal. My enemies went blind.

Yeah, exactly. Like, I feel like especially in this age of social media, it's just like something to do or say you did. It's not even my one good thing this week. It's not even remotely my one good thing this week.

My one good thing is all the comedians, they're going to write boring jokes about it that are going to expire after a week. I just wrote a joke about it right now. They're like, they're done already. They're done already.

Yeah. No, Twitter was like intolerable. But that doesn't matter though. That doesn't matter.

Oh, yeah. In my ex, I've said open mic comedians just. That's true. I didn't say good comedians.

You said all the comedians. Sorry. Okay. In my mind, I meant open mic comedians.

Okay, of course. I should have known. Yeah. In my mind.

No, if you could buy to, sorry, John. No, no, no, that's okay. I wasn't going to say anything important. I'm tired.

Okay. That's fine. I was going to do, I was doing a segue here. Yeah, yeah.

You can tell. I'm dealing. If you could buy tickets to the eclipse. Well, you kind of almost had to with like the glasses, right?

Like once they're sold out of glasses, that's like all the tickets to the eclipse or they're gone. You missed it. Yeah, absolutely. But I found that, you know, trying to buy glasses to watch the eclipse was an extremely complicated and involved process.

Oh, yeah. And there has to be a better, a better way to get, you know, entrance to these sorts of things, right? You would think that there must be. Definitely.

Well, I'm here to tell you that there is, in fact, a kinder, simpler, less complicated, easier way to buy. And it is with Segue. Not to the eclipse, mind you, but to concerts and sporting events, because Segue is the smartest, easiest way to get tickets to the live events. I'm assuming that was the rapper named Eclipse. I know.

No? It is the rap. Do you talk clip? It's just clips.

It's not e-clips. It's clips. Ah, my bad. It is the, yeah, the, uh, the, the, the rap duo, Pusha T, and No Malice.

Clips. My bad. That's okay. You're not cool.

No, but I feel like if they like made their music available online, then it would be e-clips. That sounds like, uh, definitely was, was a website in the, uh, dot com startup. It was a page, they just sold paper clips. It's where stables got their start.

Yeah. Clips dot com. Electronic clips. Yeah.

That was an online barber shop. You'd stick your hair in a scanner. You've heard of great clips. Well, this is e-clips.

Yeah, don't even have to leave the house. It's perfect. Um, but this is ostensibly a sports program, I believe. It is.

Well, we got to thank donors. Yeah, that's true. Before we get to that, we have to thank. We got to thank some donors.

We got to thank some donors. Well, I feel like some people have been accusing us of not talking about sports at all this time. Well, guess what? Today we're going to fucking talk about sports.

And guess what? We've also talked about sports like all month long. And guess what? Maybe not very much, but it's happened.

Yeah, guess what? Guess what? Guess what? What?

Guess what? What? It's our fucking show, bitch. Why?

I like when we don't talk about sports. I think we, those are like our best episodes. I mean, I think that I like both. I like arguing with you guys.

Yeah, and also like. Also, I just, there's no sports to pay attention to, but it's also nice to not have like, I don't know what's up with the Canucks at all. And just removed all that stress from your life. Yeah.

Yeah. That's kind of nice. Oh, it's real nice. Uh, but right now it's real good.

Wow. Wow. Wow. That's really loud on your own.

Oh, yeah. Extremely. Big time. Justin's gonna have to edit that out.

I definitely will try to. That might be too large. That's uncouth. That's kind of out of the middle.

I didn't think it was, I'm not even drinking beer. Drinking a La Croix. It was like the blue, you know, that sonar noise that like came from deep under the sea or whatever. That was something.

I look that up every like few months or so. And I think they've settled on, it was like, it was like an iceberg, uh, calving. You know what I mean? Caving?

That's the like C-A-L-V-I-N-G. Oh, oh, like splitting in half. Yeah, it was like when they, when they, yeah, exactly. And so it was the ice falling into the water and rubbing up against the other ice.

And it wasn't anything cool. It wasn't like a monster. That's too bad. I know.

Because everybody thought it was a monster or like a huge fish or something. Yeah, like Godzilla. Yeah, but it was just ice. Yeah, like Godzilla, a huge fish.

Anyways, let's thank some donors. Oh, yeah. You're quite a son. Oh, sure.

Thank you for donating to the show. To the show. You work hard for your money, that we know. That we know.

The segments where we read out all your names. All your names. If we say it wrong, your parents are to blame. Fuck your parents.

Well, uh, we got to hear the song live for the first time in a few episodes. Yeah. Which is nice. Yeah.

Um, our first donor that we, sorry, yes, our first donor that we have to thank is someone very close to the show. Near and dear. Very near and dear to the show. Paul Heck.

Yeah. Uh, he accepted, uh, Row Hit Body's challenge to become the, uh, the highest donor to the show. Uh, moving ahead of Row Hit by one cent. So Paul has edited his pledge from $80 to $101.69.

And we are deeply appreciative. We're very appreciative. And we also realize, which I didn't even think about at first, but this also means that Stephen, your dad can choose the topic of a bonus episode. Oh, that's right.

Yeah. So, uh, all right. So we'll have to get, uh, Paul on the line and see what thing he wants us to talk about. We'll do an entire hour about, uh, his Corvette forums.

Oh, man. Oh, man. Oh, dude, if he makes the talk of his Corvette for an hour, that'd be hilarious. No, man.

I, I think that that his appearance, however long ago that was, like episode 43 or so, uh, people are still buzzing about, like, about Corvette forums. Oh, yeah. People talked about him as one of their favorite guests, which I was pretty puzzled by that. Yeah.

But, uh, but, uh, oh, no, he was, I'm just joking. And speaking of dads wanting to be on the show, uh, my dad listened to a recent episode. He hasn't listened. He's only listened to the Kyle Wellwood episode.

And I pretty much told my parents to avoid listening to the show. And then he was like, I want to listen to more episodes. I recommended he listened to the one with you and Curry from the Sheepdogs, because he's a fan of the Sheepdogs. And he really liked it.

And now he won't stop bothering me to come on the show. Oh, really? And he all, and I was like, dad, no. And then he was also like, he was like, well, okay, maybe the guys don't want to have, because I was like, dad, it's not, I didn't say that.

No, no, I know. I said, maybe. I said, maybe the guys don't want to have you on the show. And he was like, okay, I'll interview, I'll interview with you guys.

He's like, we can all go over dinner and, and, and all we can just talk. And like, if the guys don't want me to be on the show after that, then fine. He was like, he just wants to audition. Yeah.

He wants to audition to be on the show. If that's what we require, he said he would. I mean, your dad is quite a character. He is.

He's an extreme character. If you get me and my dad arguing about something on the show, then I think that's going to probably be pretty good for me. I just like how you couched it and like, oh, it's not me. If it was up to me, I would love to have you on.

No, I didn't even say that. I just like, no, dad's allowed. No, I didn't even say that. I said, uh, Stefan and Justin and also me don't want you on the show.

Said, yeah, it's also, I was just like, well, no, because the thing with my dad, which you guys know, he's very relentless once he gets an idea in his head. So we just kept it was like, I was over at their house for dinner last weekend. It was Sunday dinner. So get there mid afternoon.

I'm there for about five hours. And it was just like non-stop. When you're having me on the show, John. Yeah.

And so I finally had to be like, dad, it's not just my show. Like I can't just say yes to you. I'm like, Dustin, Stefan might say yes, but I don't know. I can't just say right now, like yes or no, like it's not.

I don't run the show. Like it's the three of us all run the show. Yeah, exactly. So anyway, uh, it's an option.

Thank you to Harrison. Maybe that will be what Stefan's dad commissions is a dad episode. Dad will get your dad. Exactly.

Your mom would be so thrilled if your dad came on the show. We should do that next year for Father's Day. We'll just have all three of our dads on the show for Father's Day. That's a good idea.

Yeah. We'll talk about our moms. We'll get our dads to talk shit about our moms. That'll be wonderful.

Thank you to Harrison Callahan for pledging five dollars. Thank you, Harrison. And thank you also to AJ, who pledged five dollars and 53 cents. I hope it's a girl.

I don't know. Could be a guy. Yeah. But it'd be cool if it was a girl because we need some more female listeners.

But thank you, AJ 553. And lastly, long time listener and long time donor. Andrew Hamill slash Hamilton. I don't think we ever got a confirmation as to how your name is pronounced.

Hamilton. Yeah, you think it's Hamilton? Yeah, because I have a ducker. Yes.

Had that bit about it. Yes. Hamill can. Yes, exactly.

Come finish your suit. I mean, I don't know if it was a bit or just like Ivan really likes talking like he was in the 1920s. But anyway, it wasn't a good bet. Ivan was a great guest.

I clearly still remember it. Yeah, planes up the cup. Yeah, exactly. But Andrew raised his donation from five dollars to ten.

Oh, what a precious boy. So thank you, Andrew. We very much appreciate that. And you and thanks to everybody who donates to the show.

You're very sweet and kind. And if you cancel your donation to the show, like someone recently due to a recent Facebook post from one of the hosts of the show, what? Then fuck you. Wow.

Interesting. Just kidding. Adam Pied, I respect you for standing up for what you believe in. You canceled your donation to the show after Justin was inappropriate to you.

And I am onside. I was also very emplosited. That does not matter. That absolutely doesn't matter if you commit murder.

And you are drunk. You still go to jail and you are. That's not true. That is definitely true.

I don't know that was emotion. No, it's so much just like flippant. But no, if you're drunk and you kill it's not fine. Yeah, it's man's.

You go to rehab, I think, right? Wow. You can be drunk and kill someone. Well, yeah, but you're going to jail.

No, but you can you can you can be drunk and kill someone. Yeah, but yeah, but correct me. But my whole point was you're still going to jail unless you're famous. Yeah.

Unless your Dante's all were like all the people that we listed in that Facebook post of famous people who got drunk and killed people in their cars. Yeah. It was a stompingly long list. But yeah, I respect you for standing up for what you believe in.

I also respect the fact that your donation now being missing means Justin has to pay out of his pocket. Stefan me because it was 100% his fault for you canceling your donation. Thank you. I don't know about that.

I definitely know about that. You were the sole reason he canceled his donations. Well, I guess so. There's nothing really that I can say at this point that won't dig the whole deeper.

That's super. So. But I'm going to try anyway. John, get me my shovel.

Speaking of grievances, before we move on to discussing sports briefly this week, Stefan, you had a new segment that you wanted to try out on the show this week. Did you not? Oh, yeah, I did. Sorry for kind of fun.

So excited he was about the new segment he forgot already. Okay, I think it was called I'm calling you out. Yeah, that's what it was called. Oh, you know, wait, hold on.

Wait a second. I just we should get a not necessarily a theme song, but I feel like we should get just a little anyway. You can start and then I'll because I've got a really good idea for what we should do here. Okay.

Yeah, I don't have like a theme song planned or anything. Yeah, that's what I mean. That's what I'm talking about, right? So how different is this from like getting real with Stefan though?

Is it just? You mean let's get real with that. That's the one. Let's get real with Stefan.

Yeah. Well, so in that one, I wasn't calling people out. I was getting real about them. Just trying to cut through the bullshit.

Yeah, I was just getting real. And this is what I'm calling people out. Okay, so you're so okay. So you can say say the name now.

Say like the name of this new segment. At the segment? What was the name again? I'm calling you out, I think.

Yeah, I'm calling you out. Wow. Okay. That's very loud.

Well, it's not like a phone like I'm. Yeah, but you're calling them out, right? But I'm not going to them. No, but yeah, I know.

But you but see, but the thing is that you're calling them. So it makes sense to have like a ring tone to say like a ring. Like as you're calling them out. Okay, let me I'll say again.

I'm going to put my name in there because it's my segment. Okay. Oh, sorry. So wait, do you want me to do the ring now?

No, do the ring when I say it. Okay. So sorry, hold on. So okay, so this is you're calling them out.

Yes. Okay. Okay, go ahead. Okay.

I'm calling you out. We had stuff. Yeah. Sorry.

Yeah. So that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. Yeah, that was an empire. So I thought because you because now because you're calling them.

Can you combine the two? So it's like I'm higher. I'm hiring and it's like you pick up the phone and the empire. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I can do that.

Yeah. Hold on one second here. Just let me I just got to. Oh, that's I got to change the.

Okay. Yeah. Okay. Go ahead.

Okay. Uh, this is I'm calling you out with Stefan. So it's a bit of a delay there. But I was doing it all on one phone.

I had to switch back from the from the. It's still it's impressive. It's good. Yeah.

We could have used Justin's phone, but I'm not complaining. Well, I was thinking about that. But then it would then I would have to then I would have to touch it. Yeah, that's touched my greasy face.

That's that's what I was saying. Exactly. Yeah. That was kind of the point of that joke.

I feel like this segment is like, uh, it's more suited to John. Like, it'd be better if it was his segment and not yours. Seven. Because then you could call it.

Okay. You could then call it I'm calling you out. Oh, that seat now that's Brandon. That's a fucking pro.

That you know what? That's a pro right there. You know what? You don't have to pay me back for out of five.

Donation. At least not this month. That's a fucking pro segment name right there. I was on sports radio.

I would absolutely have a segment every day. I'm calling you out. I'm surprised all of the times that you've had to be a call in host on. Yeah.

Yeah. You're right. You've never been a call in host. You're right.

That's yeah. There's a lot of puns I didn't think of with my last. It's an opportunity. Yeah.

Yeah. So. Yeah. So do you suppose when I club baby seals and call in the herd?

You are indeed. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Because I kill the baby seals. Anyway, sorry. That's the proposed name for your show with Colin Tower. Yes.

Exactly. Colin the herd. Yeah. Absolutely.

Of cows. We're coming the herd of cows. It's a meat packing show. Absolutely.

Anyway, go ahead. Seven. I'm calling out this week. If someone needs to be called out next week, I'll call them out.

Yeah. I don't. I think you're going to forget about it by next week. That's my pre-emble to this segment.

I feel like the preamble to this segment has gone on so long. And it's one of the lengthiest segments we've ever done. In show history. That's true.

OK. Go ahead. So where are you calling out? Who are you calling out, Stefan?

I'm calling out the US Postal Service. Because I ordered a slow cooker on Amazon on August 18. I was supposed to get here yesterday, August 20. And I you know how like when they can't get through the door or whatever, like to the apartment, they'll phone you?

So they didn't phone me. I just get a message later on saying, oh, the carrier was unable to access the front door. Please contact the carrier to resolve with no contact phone number. And then I went to use the tracking number they gave me for the US Postal Service.

And their whole tracking website was down for 24 hours. And there was like no information on why it was down. And now I don't know where my slow cooker is. Well, it's set on the website.

Oh, it may go out to the next business day, which is Monday. That's a business day. So it should be here today. But it's not here yet.

I'm going to check out for the show. Maybe it'll be here. And I'll just be on a jacket. Sorry you said it was a slow cooker?

Yeah, we're going to do a crock on. Yeah, I hope they delivered it to the trash. I've got news for you, Stefan. Well, OK.

In a classic role reversal, it turns out I'm the one calling you out. Yeah. Because why did you buy a slow cooker in a world where pressure cookers exist? Because I'm a foreign national in the US, and I'm not ordering a pressure cooker online.

You raise a good point. However, both to USPS and to use, Stefan, I say. I just think if they were to come knocking at your door, being like, why did you order a pressure cooker, you could just appease all of the ICE agents with a delicious stew that you made in about 45 minutes. Yeah, I guess that's nice.

But can you also slow cook in a pressure cooker? You can, yeah. OK, so that's what I'm wondering. Because I like the idea of leaving it and then coming back from work in the food zone.

Yeah, I got one of those instant pots. It's like an eight-in-one. You can definitely slow cook with it. But also, why would you when you could just pressure cook and it would be done faster?

How much is a pressure cooker, though? I got it on Black Friday for like $80. But I see that this is $230. This was a seven-quart slow cooker for like $27.

I like the idea of eating food that tastes good. Slow cooker food tastes fine. You can do like folk work in there. Yeah, tastes fine.

Tastes fine. There's some sort of flavor that's just imbued on everything that you make in it. It's gross. Slow cookers are gross.

The food that comes out of there is gross. We've gone over this. We have. And I'm reiterating my correct opinion about slow cookers, which is out there gross.

They're fine. Yeah. Fine is like the best you could say. You just bought one.

And you only think it's fine. I bought it for $27. It's fine. Oh, that's fucking $27.

You lost. I like that you're furious that you ordered something online and it did not arrive to you within two days. This is like. Yeah, what world are you in?

Captain Hollywood. Yeah, you've changed since then. Hollywood's changed, man. I lived in my apartment building, my old one, for two years.

And I had a bunch of things delivered and never once did they attempt to contact me. It was always a notice. Like, oh, we tried. No, you fucking didn't.

OK. I said fuck a lot this episode. I don't know why. I mean, I got some shit going on that's unresolved in my life.

Who knows? I'm talking about it. No. What do you have going on in your life?

Nothing. I'm just saying I was just like a person. Maybe you might have. Yeah, maybe I do.

But I don't bury it in your subconscious. No, I don't think so. I mean, maybe. Is it like a sex thing or what's the deal?

Oh, no, it's not a sex thing. You sure? Yeah, no, it's actually good. All right.

What's your sex situation? What's my what? What's your sex situation? Good.

Yeah, yeah, it's good. It's coming a lot. Yeah, but I'm coming a lot. Both.

I'm happy for you. Yeah, I'm coming into the toilet and with ladies. Both. Are you really coming into the toilet now?

Is the device rubber? Ow. So, it's big. Now.

What are you doing before? Oh, buddy. You have been doing that for years and years. Like directly and I do a tissue baby.

No, no. I was just going to say that it seemed like people really enjoyed when I got extremely real last week. I thought we might have a moment like that for John, but I'm glad we were doing that. Yeah, we just did.

He just said he just said he comes into toilet. Yeah, exactly. That's a real moment for me. Well, OK, yeah, let's talk about last week.

Because I will say I'm a little bit thrown off. This is not why I've said fuck a lot. I'm a little thrown off because last week I just sit here and listen to a grown man nearly come to tears. I was not.

He was. I said nearly over the fact that you're upset about your takes about pickles and mustard. And then that spawned a thread in the face. I never asked for that.

I never said you did it. Let me finish. It spawned a thread in the Facebook group where everybody talked about how great you were including me. Imagine that forum which you barely acknowledged both to me and everyone else's message.

I'll thank you. Now also in that. What am I supposed to say? I suppose to go through every single person's comments, send them a hand written note.

You are also excellent. And you know where you're at about me, please? Yeah, you know how you can send those hand written notes? Us posts a service.

Now I am snow, but here's the thing. Then it's classic John quote. Here's the thing in that thread. Yeah, you're calling me out right now.

I'm not calling you out. In that thread there was a comment from Chris James. And he said that the best thing about you was that you're not me. That's true.

And that got the most likes. That got the most likes in the thread. And I didn't say shit about it because I don't care. Because I know I'm playing a character.

You came on here about Pickles and Mustard and got a fucking appreciation thread. I get buried by Chris. Everyone's like, oh, I fucking like that. Can't like that fast enough.

And now I'm just like, OK, I just accepted it. Because I'm a grown man. So that's all I'm saying. Don't make me an appreciation thread.
