Der 8. Mai steht vor der Tür. An diesem Tag jährt sich das Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs zum 80. Mal. Wann der Krieg genau begonnen hat, ist weniger bekannt - nämlich am 1. September 1939. An dem Tag begann der Überfall auf Polen – genauer gesagt griffen die Nazis eine Halbinsel vor Danzig an. Was danach geschah, war jahrelanger Terror gegen die polnische Zivilbevölkerung. Polen leidet massiv unter der deutschen Besatzung, allein drei Millionen Menschen jüdischen Glaubens sterben dort. Wie hat Polen das Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs erlebt? Wie haben diese Jahre die Beziehung zwischen beiden Ländern geprägt? Und wie steht es heute um die deutsch-polnische Freundschaft? Über diese Fragen spricht die Journalistin Sandra Wahle mit Basil Kerski. Er ist Publizist, Politikwissenschaftler und Direktor des Europäischen Solidarność-Zentrums in Danzig.
