This episode has been recorded at one of Farming Connect's 15 demonstration farm events held throughout September 2024. We're at Lower House Farm near Llandrindod Wells with Robert and Jessica Lyon. They farm 146 hectares and run a mixed enterprise, lambing 900 ewes as well as 32,000 broilers. They also finish 150 Belgian Blue cross heifers annually.     Lower House Farm have trialed incorporating bought in peas and beans in the pregnant ewe ration last winter to increase farm resilience and reduce the farm's carbon footprint, Robert wants to grow as much of the feed on farm as possible. They've embarked on a Farming Connect 'Our Farms' project to evaluate how peas and beans might help them to achieve that goal. Listen in to hear the findings!
