Maybe you’ve spoken a word in anger, compromised in an area you never thought you would, or allowed your heart to drift from the Lord. Sin is heavy. It grieves the Holy Spirit and disrupts our fellowship with God. But Psalm 51 reminds us of this wonderful truth: Our God is a God of mercy, and He alone can create in us a clean heart.Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” (Psalm 51:10-12)
