We suggest a new reason, which applies in every area of life, why we begin by recalling our low station - as slaves and idol worshipers. And a wonderful story to focus on what is truly the essence of Pesach - faith in God and gratitude for the many blessings we have. Chag Someach! Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
