10@9 Two Substitutes for Sacrifices - April 2, 2025

This morning we discuss how we serve God when there are no more sacrifices (since our Torah portion, VaYikra, indicates this is a primary way of serving God). We provide two substitutes, prayer, from Maharal, and Torah study from the Rav, Rabbi Yosef Soloveitchik, and explain how each reach precisely the same goal as sacrifices (which itself is a poor translation for Korbanot). Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
