11.14.21 - The Lost Arts - Patience

A lost art is something that usually requires a particular skill that few people have anymore. It might seem like the reason we no longer do some of the things we once did is because they’re outdated. But when they relate to our cultural identity, their loss isn’t because they’re unnecessary or useless. Instead, it’s because we haven’t practiced, passed down or upheld the standards of the skills needed to make them happen. Likewise, some lost arts don’t just reflect a bygone era, they also cause us to lose a part of who we are — and more importantly — who God has called us to be.
