The storm was fearful enough, but add to that the physical darkness they were trying to operate in. And then add to that this appearance they assumed was a ghost. No doubt they were shaking in their sandals. But this so-called ghost was really Jesus coming to their rescue, coming for their comfort, coming to calm them in turbulent times.
