Today we’re covering the Lawson Family Massacre on Christmas Day in 1929.  Charles Lawson took his family of nine into town to buy new clothes for them and have a family portrait taken, which was not considered normal at that time for a  poor farming family. Tragically, on Christmas Day in 1929,  Charles  brutally slaughtered his wife and 6 of his 7 children. The Christmas cake that 17 year old Marie Lawson made that morning, the family portrait and the mystery of the entire day’s events have inspired books,  documentaries, a low budget movie and, of course, podcasts.  Theories and questions remain to this day regarding this unfortunate family’s Christmas Day.‘Tis the season to be crazy!
