Hey gang, just want to let you guys know before the episode starts and you hear it for yourself that we did have some technical problems this week. I was using some new equipment for the first time without properly troubleshooting it and it didn't exactly work out. That's a big time bad for me as the show's engineer, but hopefully the fact that our guest is at all audibles a big time, good for me as the show's producer. Apologies for the tiredness this week, and to make it up to you, we put out a bonus so along with this episode as we actually did get heavy into the sports talk for once, specifically about the Canucks and Maple Leafs, but perhaps too heavy for people who tuned into this looking for a comedy show.

Hopefully you'll enjoy both, but if not, here's the main event. We appreciate your patience and enjoy the show. Real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good, real good. That's right, ladies and gentlemen, hello and welcome to Real Good Show, Episode 11.

It is a real good show, a podcast that is not only about sports, but sometimes not so much. America's Best Worst Canadian Sports Podcast, the preferred sports podcast of bands who should be playing the Grey Cup halftime show, but for whatever reason, don't happen to be. I'm just a little bit more upset with you as always and with me. Stefan Heck, and you know, if there are times of charm, we got through the other two intros.

It's not as, like last week I think it took like five or six guys. And that was not my fault. Well, no, but you were the one doing the intro. You two couldn't stop laughing though.

At the intro. Okay, fine. Yeah, no, it was fine. I'm just glad we cut the intro where you referred to the number 11 as one one.

Well, and forgot that ten is double. It was also double digits. I'm just excited to be here, right? That's fine.

Because it's not just three of us. It makes two of us, because there's a gentleman with us here. I haven't even introduced myself yet. Yeah, well, you want to do that?

Yeah, I want to. Sure. John Cullen. I just assumed that you would introduce yourself already.

No, I didn't. I just started talking. That's not an introduction. Usually you start talking in the criticism of my introduction.

Yeah, I know. I got there. I started at the same time. I assumed the mantle.

No, no, no, don't be sorry because I still have more things I want to make fun of, which was I like that you said that we should be. Here's what happened. My friend is a assistant to her managing the sheepdogs tour right now and Justin found out that the sheepdogs listen to our podcast and enjoy it and now it's gone straight to his head. So that's what that whole gray cup thing.

You don't think that's cool? I think it's cool. I'm not saying it's bad. I was thinking, you know, I'm not going to be listening to this episode, keep listening.

I'm happy. But, like, also people were really confused at the introduction because most of our listeners are like, what's the gray cup? I don't know. That's a really weird thing to introduce someone.

That was a special shout-out just for Hitler. But, it's cool. Are we ahead of the CFL podcast right now? I don't know.

I don't have to check that out. I haven't even checked. Sorry. We should let our guests start talking.

Yeah. I mean, usually I'll just introduce with whatever piece of a claim we get during the week. Yeah, I know. But we haven't gotten a lot of a claim since this gentleman gave us a nice shout-out and a shout-out that got him a spot on the show.

Thomas Drentz is with us here today. Hello. I'm blown away by the professionalism of this book. It's an absolute pleasure to be here.

I listen every week, but I won't listen to this one. I'm pretty sure. OK. All right.

Sweet. Oh, because it's going to be really bad. Yeah. Oh, god.

It's my bit. Who hasn't done that, right? But a guest on a pod, a guest on only listen to their segments of the show. That's what the 15-second skipper button for iTunes.

Well, I try never to mention where I work on the show. I want to be on the show, but I will say for people who don't know you, you are a national columnist for Sportsnet.ca for the covering the Bank of the Bank of the Canucks for Sportsnet. And you're also the managing editor of the nation's network of hockey blogs. It's a very prestigious title.

Yes. Managing editor of a blog network always blows people away. I generally lead with that one. But what does your business card look like?

Terrible. Oh, those of you who are listening, he's taking it out right now. I'm pretty sure I got 200 of these made at Staples. Oh, wow.

For a grand total of $25. Oh, dear god. It kind of looks like if the paper wasn't card stock, I would have just thought that you just made 16 per sheet and cut it yourself. It kind of looks like it would get stamped at a sandwich shop.

You'll be a stunning reader. And this is the first time I've ever taken them out. It's a full 200. I'm sitting in the closet.

So we'll give you a stamp today. And then your fifth podcast visit is free. A free medium coffee with your fifth podcast. I don't know if a stamp is always so bad.

It's spent $120 on terrible cardboard sandwiches. And we'll give you half of the cardboard sandwich. Well, the Subway sub-glove used to be legit, because you would get two stamps for a foot long after eight stamps. You got a free one.

That's a good deal. And Subway didn't used to taste like complete garbage. My favorite sort of thing like that right now, I don't know if you guys are familiar with Darby's Pub and Kits. I am familiar with it.

It has a passport. They have like a flavor beer tasting passport, where you get like a book that this shape, like a passport, would be. And you get a stamp every time you try a new beer on tap. And you have to get to 50.

And if you have 50 pints at Darby's, then they put your name in like etched in gold on the wall of foam and they give you like a $50 gift card. So that's like come in, spend $250. And we'll give you $50 back to have the company. It's not bad considering that most of the people that frequent that pub are drunks.

And they're just like, oh, well, this is just added to mine. Can you give your name on the wall multiple times? I don't think so. That would be great.

Yeah, it would be great to just like get an entire wall of flax with just one letter the whole way across. It'd be a very long process though. But what the hell are we talking about? This has nothing to do with sports.

Doesn't matter. One of my favorite things. Let's keep talking about pictures on walls and rest. OK.

OK. One of my favorite things is I like when places have like the eating challenges. Yeah. And then like because they'll post like a picture of the person who completes it.

But one of my favorite, I know there's one place called Lucy's diner that will post the people who also fail. I'm actually on that wall. Oh, are you nice? It's like 3 AM and thinking they can eat an entire Shepherd's pie or whatever, the stupid challenges.

And then the people are like drunk and sad and full. I was drunk and full, but very happy. OK. Because that's how you like I failed the challenge.

It's impossible. What is it again? It's like a big stack burger like with seven patties and then a layer of pulled pork. Holy shit.

It's the pulled pork layer that fucked me. Not the seven patties. I don't know. It might not be seven.

It might be like five. I'd be done at a pattie too. I think they may have equally fucked two. Regardless, no the pulled pork.

It's just too chewy. Like you can't. It takes too much time to eat. And that just completely threw me off.

But I tell you, you have to do it in like 20 minutes. And it also is like a side of poutine and a side of mac and cheese and a milkshake. Can you take the pulled pork off? No, you have to finish everything.

Good work. You take it off. Eat it. Oh, yeah, probably.

Probably. I like the only reason you think you failed is because the pulled pork. I knew I was going to do it. And then you listed.

Oh, yeah, and there's poutine and a milkshake. I knew I was going to do it. So I didn't eat anything all day that day, basically. That's a mistake.

Yeah. Yeah. Well, we went out drinking and then I was drunk when I tried to do it. And an extra drunk is going to eat anything.

Which made me think that I could do it. I tell you, I'm so smiley in that photo on the Wall of Shame because the atmosphere in that place just came alive. They ring a bell and are like, someone's doing the challenge. And it just turns into a sporting event.

The place just becomes a ball. Yeah. Everyone is cheering. I wouldn't like the added pressure.

Everyone was cheering. No, I failed. On your bowels. Well, yeah.

But I don't want to be crowd around me. I'd rather people kind of walk by me like, what the fuck is that? What is that? Yeah.

Yeah. I would silently guess what my problem is rather than having it announced. The other problem was the food was just too fresh. The burger was too hot.

I couldn't eat the patties either. It was steaming in my face. It's really a negative. It was too fresh, man.

It's also that pasta place on the east side that gives you that big plate of pasta. And if you eat the whole thing, they just give you a pen. And it's like, you've got a stomachache and a pen. It's like a nice pen?

No, it says the place is the last one. It says the most important thing. Oh, yeah. It's definitely worse than the ones that you get at a conference.

Oh, my God. Yeah. Worse than that. Like a step down from that.

So yeah, I mean, there's no incentives except for the fact that pasta is pretty delicious. Yeah. Well, I'm always intrigued by wing challenges, even though it's crazy spicy. I wanted to do this wing challenge.

We had to eat 12 of them in six minutes, which seemed pretty easy. But they were coated with ghost peppers, which had to look up online. It's like a pepper that is so spicy. It's been weaponized by the Indian government.

70% of ghost peppers stock worldwide is used in hand grenades. Yeah. And smoke bombs. They were using it to ferret terrorists, basically.

So it's like, maybe I shouldn't sign a waiver to put that in my mouth. If the pepper died and then haunted your chicken wing chest are pretty good, it's not going to be really good. Like a good situation. Yeah.

Anything called ghost anything, I'm not interested in it. Yeah. It sounds like you're making excuses already, though. Well, I didn't do it.

I guess if you're just on a waiver for an eating contest, it's probably quite terrifying. I don't have to sign a waiver to do the thing at Lucy's. Maybe you should have, though. Yeah.

You should have. Probably. That's the beginning of the end for me. But you are something of an analytics guru.

I think it's safe to call you that. I don't know. You just win this when I call you. Something safe to call anyone the word guru.

Just a weird word to say. Guru. I would say I have a basic understanding of hockey analytics in a social media guru. Well, yeah.

But you can put it into my guru, Justin. You can put it into writing in a way that I can read and understand it. Oh, thank you, sir. So that's a quality scale of yours.

But you know a fair bit about advanced statistics, let's say, because that's what the bulk of your writing includes. I want to say in tales, but it includes it, definitely. So with that in mind, I think there's a lot of people who listen to our show, particularly outside of the Vancouver market. And here are the way that we talk about Lucas Biza and think, there's no way that he's that bad.

Is there? It couldn't be possible that he could be that bad. And so Thomas Strance, numbers guru, I ask you. Is he that bad?

Yes. So I think it's just through my arms that in victory. I think the thing with you. I guess that's that me.

You're throwing your arms up at me. But I just don't care. That's really what it comes down to, because I still don't think he's as bad. And also, I secretly want him to play for the Canucks forever, because I hate them.

He will. If you like seeing goals, Lucas Biza's your man. I love seeing goals. I do.

I'm so many roots for goals. Like I always want to see lots of goals. Who doesn't? Lucas Biza's, I mean, I wrote a big thing in the next army last year.

He's the clear choice for most exciting player. He should win that award. And it'll be really nice to enjoy the full fruits of the McDavid Sam Benadera with Lewis. McDavid against Biza is just going to be.

I can't wait. I can't wait. Spisa actively contributes to the act of being outscored. It's basically the least way to say.

You guys remember that year that they did the shoot out? I think it was the first year they introduced the shoot out to the All-Star game, where they were going for the slam dunk contest. Oh, like the trick shots. The trick shots thing.

And they just got like beer league goalies to play net against Ovechkin and Malcolm and stuff. That's going to be McDavid versus Spisa. Spisa's going to be the beer league goalie. I have to say, I've kind of come around on LucasVisa.

Not as a player. That was a player. Not even as a person. He is a legitimately.

That's why I've heard it. He's like a great interview. He's a really nice guy. Great interview.

And just guy. But I was just, I wrote this on Twitter earlier this week. It just seems like this is a team that with the influx of Jake Ritannon perhaps not with Standin lost a lot of personality this year. And if they're going to be bad, they'd just be kind of boringly bad and painful.

And it's not fun to hate Jim Benin. Because it's just like there's a bit of an emotional release and just like saying the things that we've said about him. But he's in charge. And he's going to be in charge for quite a while.

So it's not. He's an I-spersible. So I think there's a knee jerk. It's full of Jim that's not fair.

OK. I think that's like an active thing. I don't think Jim is as clueless as he's painted. But make in front of him.

Quite seriously. I also think if you want a nice guy, like Jim Benning is a lovely dude. Like just a very nice guy, very friendly man, and a very useful guy in terms of accommodating media. Which is what you want.

Which is what you're just talking. Most importantly. He's getting returns your calls. He returns my calls.

Bop me some bagels. Listen, I'll tell you. But you know, he's a nice guy. And I don't think he's a squoose.

And again, I think people are jumping down his throat now. Like it's gotten to the point of parody where there's like overreach. Like, oh my god, I can't believe he said there 100 point team. He's like, he said yes to a question he had.

No option to say no to. Yeah. Like he said, you know, the thing that we've heard a lot of GM say about aging goalies. He said that Gantz was rewarded.

You know what I mean? And people are like, ah shut up Jim. This is completely bullshit. Jim's a, you know, I think he's an old school hockey guy.

I think a lot of the shit that's getting sort of us spewed his way might not be the fairest. But making fun of him fills me with hopelessness and despair. It's not fun. Yeah, because it's like the team we love.

Yeah, making fun of Lucas Bisa, though, is the most fun thing. Like it is honestly at this point right now, probably my favorite thing about being a Canucks fan. So I can't, you know, that's bad. That's very bad.

Well, the best part of making a Canucks fan is going to be when Lucas B's has the puck behind the net. Because I just never know what's going to happen. But I would happily take the amusing chad and Freud of him being terrible than just like the dullest and being a horrible team. Yeah, absolutely.

Yeah. Well, that's probably enough of the hockey discussion. Way too much. This was fine, though.

John, two-dubbed, 20 minutes. I did. Week one of the hockey discussion. It was the worst team in the NHL discussion.

I fell asleep halfway through. I just woke up in a fever dream like, oh, they're still talking about the Canucks. And then I just felt like I had to yell something. Ah!

Week one of the NFL was this past weekend. It started on Thursday. And personally, I didn't watch a single second of it. But I know I watched a lot.

I watched a lot. Yeah. Well, the both of you, I think. Yeah, I'm not like an NFL expert.

I just like I watch it. Yeah, my fantasy team's blew it up this weekend. It was dope. I was 2-0.

I was 2-1. But I was better, I think. It is. By percentage speaking, yes it is.

I got screwed by Carlos I'd last night. He was on my team. Oh, he was on my team. Everyone's super stoked hearing about our fantasy team.

Well, that's why we have this podcast. I mean, it's like, because people ignore my tweets about my fantasy team. So I'm like, well, I need to be in another medium where I can talk about my fantasy team. But let's really get to the more pressing issues.

Like, how many fingers does Jason Pierropol have? Yeah, that seems like the most interesting story of the weekend. Does he have the middle one? Well, the quote is.

This isn't from an ESPN report. One source said, the procedure Pierropol had done on September 4. To close up, his middle finger was still fresh when he met with team doctors on September 7. So he's got like a gaping hole in his middle finger, I guess.

He's missing an index finger. He's missing more than half of his thumb. And for context, this was a fireworks action. He rented a U-Haul, filled it with fireworks, and then I guess blew it all at once or something.

Yeah, because why have your own truck? Pierropol, I think, is the highest paid defensive player in the NFL, if I'm not wrong. And you might be wrong. I might be.

I think he's close. I think he's close to the top anyway. He's making a shit ton of money. I know that.

But don't bother with your own truck. If you're going to fill a truck with fireworks, rent it. That's just good advice. That's just great.

Yeah, it's just thinking. That's what Chris Carter would have said that at the rookie symposium, for sure. If you're going to get some fireworks, you rent that truck. They're keeping him away from the team right now.

He's been sent home to Florida. Yeah, because no one wants to look at his finger. He did post it. Oh, God.

On Instagram where he's just doing training, I think, down in Florida, running weights and whatnot. Can you see his hand? Yes. He's planted in a three-point stance.

That's a three-point stance. But I will say, I can only see three fingers on that hand that he's got down on the floor in that photo. Well, do you really have fingers to play football? Look at Michael Strahan always shows off how friggin screwed his fingers are.

Have you seen that? They're all bent in the weirdest directions. He has super long fingers. It's like extra creepy.

They're like the hand equivalent of his teeth. LAUGHTER No, because he doesn't have any gaps in them. No, but they're so gross. Yeah, I don't think linebackers will be fine.

Well, he wrote on the Instagram post, God can turn any situation around for the better. Your hard times will lead to the best times of your life. So I put it out to the table right now. What are the perks of missing fingers?

OK, well, it was funny because I was actually just thinking about it before you said it. I think number one would be it would be impossible for him to be called for facemask anymore. Yeah, that's true. Yeah.

Jason Parapal, facemask. It wasn't me. I legitimately cannot grab things. LAUGHTER Did you see me try to unwrap that chocolate bar before the game started?

I cannot grab anything. He'll probably get somebody on the sidelines, like squirt the water into his mouth for him too. They do that anyway, which is even better. He'll have his own guy now, though, because they have the one guy will usually run out onto the field if there's an injury timeout just because they have their gloves and helmets on and shit.

But now he needs one. But now he needs one. So he'll have his own guy. I think any interception he makes will be 100 times more impressive.

Oh, yeah. Like play over the years. Yeah, tipping a pass. Yeah.

Oh, no, Beckham Jr. Three-finger guy interception. Oh, nice. Yeah, that's like a new thing.

Well, Beckham Jr. made the Three-finger catch. I'm curious, though. Has there ever been a situation in your own life where you just thought yourself thinking, fuck, if only I didn't have two fingers?

I don't know if I could say it on the podcast. LAUGHTER You were actually thinking that in the moment. I was trying to head less fingers. No, I know.

I know. But I was just like, you're trying to riff on that. I just fucked up the right. It's OK.

It's not my fault. It's cool. It would have been good. It was just like a little improv, like yes and.

And you're just like, no, it's not happening. No, but. No, but. He just whispered and told me that again.

That's an office reference for those of you. I think for the most entertaining thing that happened this weekend, and the NFL was probably the very first game. And Roger Goodell not being at the season opener in Boston. And the crowd there, giving him the old what for it, for not showing up, I think.

Absolutely. Justin, do you have the clip? Where is Roger? Is what they are changing?

Oh, I just meant that I figured this was a perfect time for your horrible, 100-year-old. Oh, yeah. When reached for college after the game, what did Roger? First of all, here what the crowd said.

24-centre. Is that where is Roger? It might be. So they were chanting, where is Roger?

Though in Boston, it was a little closer to where is Roger. Where is Roger? And yeah, Goodell, I guess, was just flipping on the TV and thinking to himself, oh, good golly. They're chanting my name over there in Massachusetts.

There's the Goodell impression. Too scared to show his face. Which is like, how long can this continue though? That's what I was thinking about your impression.

Well, I can keep it going for an awful long time. As long as he's commissioner and he's in the news, it will be on the show. Oh, man. But yeah, I feel bad for you, Steph, because you have to wear headphones during that.

It's fine. It's not the worst thing. I mean, it's not. I don't have to wear it because Justin and Steph and wear headphones all recording, and I don't.

So I don't have to get it directly in my ears. Or in broadcast headsets. Or whatever. Just being snobby wearing headphones.

It's like, I have the option. And I just was like, oh, I'm a man of the people. I don't need headphones. But how long can he just continue to be the commissioner and not show up to things?

Because I don't think he's done any press or any kind since any of the time. It's probably for the best, though. He's hired by the owners, right? So can't he just kind of like do, I suppose?

I mean, I'm not saying it's right. The press doesn't boot. He just can't be in front of fans. And realistically, Batman's done his job for 20 years, and he's never been in front of fans without them.

Batman loves him. We talked about this last week. He just gets off on being the heel. He's really funny about it, actually.

He'll make a joke about it every time. The draft is always super entertaining because... No, I think you're going to like this. You're going to have to trade and be like, oh, you love me now.

Yeah, we're like, I'd like to thank Philly for their warm hospitality. He plays that up pretty good. He makes jokes about it. He really enjoys it.

It's just going to be like a Nick's draft pick every time he's in front of the fans, and that'll be fine. Yeah, no problem. He's just not there. Once you get drafted by the Nick's, that's it.

He'll never show up again. You guys know the Nick's are basketballs, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I'm all aware. I'm aware.

I just thought I'm used to the Nick's trade in their picks away, so I assumed that he didn't exist as the commissioner. So I was trying to find the use one on a guy named like Orzingus, like a guy who sounds like a react. That's scary. If they can't pronounce his name in New York, they don't want him on.

Whereas like if the Raptors draft like European player, they'll be like, oh, yeah, great. Somebody who's going to love it in turn. I was super excited. He's going to make the transition perfectly.

Yeah, like there's no other multicultural cities in the NBA or whatever other league. But I think we can move from out of the NFL unless there's any other football talk. I mean, there's the pool party. So I'll say that for a little bit.

Yeah, but we'll talk about the reverse hockey pool. Yeah, of course. Of course. That's coming together, but we did, let's take a little trip into the world of baseball.

We have it on the TV in the room with us right now. A team that is actually featured in the clip of the week is playing the Blue Jays right now. That would be the Atlanta Braves. This is a game between the Mets and the Braves and the pitcher found himself in something of a slump and a color commentator Keith Hernandez was having absolutely none of it.

So there are two clips here. We will hear them both. This is from a game this past week in the NLP between the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets. Just this is a major baseball.

Wow. They're commenting on balls being thrown by the pitcher at the moment. That is the beginning of it and it continues with this clip right here. This is the next pitch.

And Daniel takes ball forward and forces in another run. 10 to 7 New York. Second consecutive bases loaded walk. This one issued by Barawa.

I would turn in my season tickets. So the pitch was three in the ninth and now that's Keith Hernandez right there saying that he would get rid of his season tickets just for watching a performance worthy of the Vancouver Canadians potentially. Oh man. Yeah, that was basically like that.

I was talking about that the Vancouver Canadian. I saw pitcher throw 12 straight balls and imagine that that was probably his career. His career ended most likely that day, which was exciting for me. And this is Daniel Murphy the pitcher in this one.

No Daniel Murphy was bad. Sorry. Sorry. So yeah, so the this is the net broadcasting team to feeling sorry for the Atlanta Braves.

They had walked home. They've gone to extra innings and then walked home to batters in a row and Keith Hernandez was reacting very poorly to ball three and ball four. My favorite part is when he says, oh my God. And then immediately asks for forgiveness.

Well, I play like I just says, wow. Yeah. Oh my God. Forgive me.

But this is. Well, I just this is majorly. This is the MLB. Like I like and that's appropriate because it is the highest level.

But I do feel like that like anyone working in sports, no matter what level they're working at thinks that their level is like the most important level because like I remember working in junior B hockey up north. If I were to like speak on the broadcast about some details that I had about a player who suffered a severe injury that listeners might be very curious to know how that guy was doing, I'd get in trouble from the coach for being like, yeah, you're giving away like injury details. Come on. This is junior B hockey.

I'm like, yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Exactly. You're right. This is junior.

You're like, when I watch the game, I have circus music playing in my brain. Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do. Yeah, I know. It's so true.

I was saying before the podcast, too, like I used to interview, I worked for this, uh, this hockey magazine called the hockey now, which is distributed for free and like arenas across Canada. And it's mostly about like minor and junior hockey. And I would interview these like minor hockey coaches for a piece. And yeah, you'd have like P.E.A.

one coaches talking to me like it's the NHL. Like, yeah, you know, just a real good. Yeah, it's been real good season so far for the boys. You know, we just had a lot of guys really go in and, uh, you know, yeah, it's been real good to just defense is great.

And they say real good as many times Willie Desjardins basically. They wouldn't even say be like, Oh, and who's like, who's your star player this year? Well, you know, we can't single out really any one player. It's really going to team effort.

I'm like, because this is when the like level that they're at actually starts to creep in. They're like, Oh shit, like parents are going to give me so much money. Yeah, exactly. I know, but it's just, yeah, I was hilarious.

I couldn't get over it. It was great though. All right. Keith Hernandez best known for his appearance on Seinfeld, probably.

And his main business boss story career. But namely, yeah. How many I don't I don't I never want I'm not a big sign for the episodes. Is he on?

I think just one. Oh, just one. Because it was the JFK parody. Oh, right.

I got spit on. Of course. Yeah, of course. I think that'll do it though for clip of the week and I don't know that we have anything for the Tapper tracker this week.

Well, I've got a quote. I mean, it's it's worth just playing a theme song. Okay. I just want to always work with all.

I like it to go up with a quote from you talk. Well, anyway, I'll get to it when we got to the theme song first. Of course. I'm going to go to the Tapper tracker having just witnessed the Toronto Blue Jays lose to the MLB's worst team at Lanta Braves.

Well, I bet all those people are super happy that they didn't cancel their stuff. All 30 people that were at the stadium tonight. But without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the Tapper tracker. He's just a common man.

He's got a $10 days per hour. If you throw your own employee through a classroom. How do you like when he slaps you in a face? How do you do?

I'm shaking you yelling at my wife. You guys think this is okay. I have a reputation and I have to protect it. You will destroy it.

I'm leaving. I'm not resting on your bar. So what do we have? Sorry, just before you leave into that, I have a question.

I still not watching a single episode of Bar Rescue. His theme song is that the theme song of the show? No, no. That's not okay.

No, I just think of John Taffer as a common man working hard with the fans. I got there because for a second I'm like, oh, is he actually thinking that becoming a bar scientist is the American dream? Because I got very confused for a second. I would say it kind of is.

I mean, he kind of thinks that obviously because he did that conference that was supposed to be like the American dream conference thing. The conference that got you. Yeah, just screaming about the same. I love that also before you get into it not to cut you off against Evan.

But when we were bringing Tom up from the street into the show, he was saying that the research that he did to be on the show. He was saying so. So I was cramming in the cab so I went and I went and at least check out Taffer's timeline. So he's done anything maybe I can contribute to the Taffer track.

And he just tweeted out a Forbes link. He's like, check out this interview I just did with Forbes magazine. I was like, this is going to be gold. They're not going to know this.

I'm going to be able to like steal this fucking segment. So I started telling Justin about it and I'm like, yeah, and it's like the byline on the writer is like, I'm the former entrepreneur, former managing editor of entrepreneur.com. He's like, oh, yeah, we talked about that. Our, or I guess I suppose now two hours ago, Taffer retweeted out that video talking about how he's in the reactions business, right?

And the way, you know, where he's like appears with Torello in, so he goes on about how it happens to him this one. You know, okay, so now you are. Go over ahead. Yeah, yeah.

Taffer, it's, it's, he says it's Forbes, but it actually just links to chantaffer.com. The line is this guy who's like the former managing editor of. Interview with Taffer in which he sort of explains that he's not in the restaurant business. He's in the reaction business.

Okay. No, because previously the only quote from that interview was, all excuses are BS. Oh, no, this one, this one's like, this one's like the chef's not producing food. Like you're on trade.

That's not the product. The reaction, that's the product. Oh, that was the quote I got because he used that quote again at a different thing, I think, which is even funny. Then he's like, and then he's like, you want to get a promotion?

Like find out how to make your find out how to get that reaction from your boss. Then you'll get the promotion. He was talking at the University of Central Florida's hospitality program. The prestigious UCF Hospital.

He seems to really like this interview. He does what he likes the reaction. So he says, well, they don't teach you in college. It's success in the hospitality business.

It's driven by reaction management. And I should say that on the page, your reaction management is capitalized, both the R and the M and there's a little TM sign. Of course, of course. And then it says, set Taffer, who trademarked the term?

And then the cook in the kitchen is in fact not cooking an entree. He's cooking a human reaction. I would disagree. I'd say he's also cooking an entree.

Yeah. Yeah. Because you get good reactions by having good friends. You can't just cook a reaction.

That's also fucking gross. Like it just sounds like cannibalism. Yeah. I'm cooking a human reaction.

I'm going to work making reactions all day long. Also, if that is true, then chefs are getting fucked because they put all this hard work into the food and they do not ever get to see the reaction. So Taffer's just basically saying like, well, you're just, you're a shit out of luck bud. Sorry.

But it's utter nonsense though. Well, of course, I know he goes back in the kitchen. He's like, you're cooking food. What is it bullshit?

Does this look like a reaction to you? I'm not going to be like, this is good. If it's not good. So yeah, you're making a fucking entree.

I think he trademarked the term. I mean, he's got to just go back to that well again and again, which in numerous interviews, apparently he does. And I see a lot of research in John Taffer's name on Twitter, also I came across some poor confused Republican person who was talking about how he was really excited to see John Taffer moderate the Republican candidates debate tomorrow with Hugh Hewitt and Data Bash. And I was like, oh my god, like I hope they know about this so I quickly Googled it.

And it's actually Jik Taffer. Oh. So bum bum bum bum. Well, he's teased that he might run for president like after he did that speech that we've spent a good deal of time talking about it.

The Americans for Prosperity Summit. he has tweeted out in Facebook, all kinds of like Photoshop. Tapper 2016. Tapper 2016, which I'm pretty sure he got that idea from our podcast.

You said he was in the comedy podcast. Yeah, sure he listens to our podcast. Yeah, he also unblocked me on Twitter. I think it was the last episode.

Yeah, so I think we're gonna roll. Yeah, everything's coming up to after. His most recent tweet is a selfie with his daughter as he walks her down the aisle at her wedding. Oh, yeah.

So congratulations to Sam Tapper. Good for you. It's actually Sam. Colin.

Dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee. Good for you. Thank you. Brooke will be delighted to hear that.

All right, is that it for the Tapper Tracker? Yeah, could you imagine how fucking good the Tapper Tracker would be if I was married to his daughter? It would be the greatest thing ever. We probably have to watch his show.

Yeah, I would probably have to. He plays bets on when he's going to yell at you first. Oh, yeah, you would have all right. If I was marrying her, you would have already done it.

The best would be your wedding reception at corporate bar. Yeah, corporate bar in the real. What? I thought a reception was at a golf course.

And all my dad did a bar rescue here a month ago. Yeah. This is bullshit. Well, that waiter does still have an eye patch.
