110. THE ASSOCIATION’S TERRY KIRKMAN & JULES ALEXANDER REVEAL THE FULL STORY BEHIND THE BAND & RATE ALL THEIR RECORDS IN A 13-HR INTERVIEW (PART 1, 1962-1966: AND THEN...ALONG COMES THE ASSOCIATION)
from Discograffiti · host David Gebroe
Discograffiti host Dave Gebroe conducted a 13-hour interview with the two founders of legendary 1960s soft pop act The Association, Terry Kirkman and Jules Alexander, in which they rated the entirety of their own discography. It’s impossible to adequately put into words how surreal this series is. Trust me, it’s unquestionably a ride worth taking no matter how the hell you feel about the genre. Welcome aboard the most lunatic series in Discograffiti history. In Part 1, Terry & Jules reveal: How they went about forming one of the most successful bands of all time; The manifold difficulties of getting a record deal when you’d just invented a whole new genre of music; And exactly how many acid trips were indeed taken, whether dosed or intentional. NEXT WEEK: THE ASSOCIATION PART 2! Currently, there are close to 100 PATREON EPISODES! That's an entire universe of incredible content available to you for the price of a cup of coffee a week—plus, this is the sole means by which I’m feeding my family, so please don’t let us starve to death due to your abhorrent greed.
