It is probably the single area of the game where, when it goes wrong it can go catastrophically wrong and in some cases, a remedy would appear almost impossible. It begs the question,  is it a mental problem or a mechanical problem, or do the mental and mechanical feed each other, "the worse you play the less confidence you have, the less confidence you have the worse you play".  It then becomes a downward spiral. Conversely, it may be demonstrable that the opposite is true and an upward spiral can be created. Is the technology, wonderful as it is creating more reliance on physics and design than on technique? Plus, what do all the great short-game players appear to have in common? (other than being great short-game players obviously :-)In this week's podcast, we discuss the short game that from our experiences we believe to be key factors, and I will look specifically at the mental side of it which I believe is definitely the keystone to the mechanical.
