Below is a short description of what’s coming up and important links and/or announcements: Watch These Announcements on Video Here Mr. Gray’s Class Podcast Class Website Open House Thursday, March 31st Update: Jog-A-Thon Friday March 25th (Turn in Pledge Envelopes to Mr. Gray by April 1st) Our run time is first thing in the morning (8:25-8:55) so students should come dressed to run. Multiplication and Division Facts Practice Spelling Words - The kids will receive the words Tuesday, practice during the week, and take the quiz on Friday. Follow along with our Wordament! Reader’s Workshop We are continuing our researching animals unit. We are practicing different ways to research and gather information about a topic. This week we will study how to build up vocabulary and talk with the lingo of experts and how to discuss our topic with zeal for a new animal. Writer’s Workshop The kids will continue our writing about research unit going along with our reading unit. This week the kids will teach others about their animal as a way to get ready to write, discuss table of contents and chapter organization and reread their drafts to add more for a new animal. Math What happened to math class? We start a new unit on telling time intervals (ex. PE started at 10:45 and ended at 11:19, how many minutes was PE). We will start by exploring time on a stopwatch and move on to reviewing time to the minute, then look at problems with time and solving those problems with number lines and t-charts. Social Studies No Social Studies this week. Science We will continue our weather unit by studying wind and precipitation. We will look at local data for patterns. Thank you, Mr. Gray
