Arvid Loewen is an ultramarathon cyclist, philanthropist, and former business executive. Born in Paraguay and immigrating to Canada as a teenager, he played semi-professional soccer as a goalkeeper before rising to senior management at Palliser Furniture. Around age 49 he left that career to focus full-time on fundraising for Mully Children’s Family (a Kenyan street-children rescue mission) through extreme cycling.
