Abraham Shakespeare var en 40-årig man som hade växt upp under tuffa förhållanden i Florida och som kämpade på för att få vardagen att gå runt. Han drömde om ett bättre och tryggare liv och den här drömmen såg ut att bli verklighet i november 2006 när Abraham vann 30 miljoner dollar på lotto. Vinsten förändrade hela hans livssituation över en natt och alla ville ha en bit av kakan. Tack vare hans givmilda personlighet så försvann pengarna snabbare än man kunnat tänka sig och mindre än tre år efter lottovinsten så verkade även Abraham ha försvunnit spårlöst.
