Right, the chord button has been hit. It's been hit. It's been hit. 1.34 a.m.
Oh, god. It's the latest podcast we've done in a long time. It is, what? Let me move this a little bit.
That's a specific reason why, isn't it? Yeah. No intro. No intro.
Fuck that. Yeah, no, it's just, right. Okay. It's been one of them 24, 48 hours.
I don't know how long now where I've been glued. I don't know about anyone else. I've been glued to Twitter and I've just been like refreshing the speaking out hashtag on a loop for the last, oh, god. Yeah, just for ages.
And just like new things, keep coming through and we're going to do a podcast tomorrow. And then we're going to do a night where we're like, let's like, the world is fucking cesspit right now. So tonight we're like, let's just talk about nice things and make us happy. And then we ended up back on this.
Everything comes back. All roads lead to hell. So we ended up back here again and then we're like, you know what? Fuck it.
Let's put the mic on. Yeah. I think the whole reason why we got back to this point is because we were kind of trying to, I mean, you know, like most people out there at the moment. There's been a fair bit of negative news stories over the last three or four months.
And when I say negative, I'm not saying like, oh, they're a bit negative. So they need to show up. It's been a really bad. It's been a lot of shit.
Obviously, you know, we'll come out the other side of this, hopefully back in a bad position for loads of things like with live matter and now this. So for anyone who doesn't know off instantly, which I'm sure you all do what we're talking about. We're talking about what's speaking out. So British wrestling has kind of been exposed a little bit.
It's like me too, in the moment. About particular atrocities, maybe, is the correct term to use with its male and female stars. But obviously, I've only seen a couple of female ones. What do you mean people talking about complaining against us?
Against women, yeah. So call it as wife and then somebody will not be named by somebody who will not be named or mentioned later. Just because it's not really fair. We were kind of told that in confidence, but I still want to mention it.
Yes, we'll mention it, but we won't name names. Oh, no name names, because it was a while ago. But yeah, so I mean, my kind of thoughts to start with was, do we even go into it? Like, do we even mention it?
Because I mean, obviously, we would mention it like it's not a case of, but do we dedicate an entire show to talk this over? And the thing is, it's one, we've been asked to do it by quite a few people, which, you know, I'm honored to think that you'd give a shit what even people have got to say about this because it's such a massive issue. But I'm also taking a bit of a wrestling kicking over the last couple of days and quite rightly so, like, I feel, you know, that it's correct that I'm currently over the last couple of days completely disenchanted with the whole fucking thing. You know, and I've seen a couple of people tweeting like, Oh, you know, and the first reaction, which is something that I thought, Oh, please don't let it be this person.
Please don't like the whole you tree thing when that came out. It's like, Oh, God, please don't let my face. Please don't let it be Brian Connolly. Brian Connolly will bruise foresight or somebody that care about it, which actually Brian, thanks for all the stories, Brian.
He's pointed out like a few wrestling fans. It's like showing a really bad side of him because it's don't talk about my favorite superstar, but your favorite superstar is a rapist. And that's not what he said. I'm paraphrasing that.
That's not what he said at all. So that's that's coming from my head from seeing things on Twitter as well. But yeah, but yes, we were originally we're going to do like 10 minutes, just to say, I fucking discussed it with the whole thing. And then it's just one thing after another after another.
So what led us to this point is canceling the network. Yeah, stop, stop spending money now. Yeah, because you did an amazing tweet the other day, which was right on the fucking money. It's like, talk with your wallet.
If you're going to, if you're going to allow this to go on and allow this to allow these people to profit from this kind of thing because, you know, again, they're not profiting directly from it. But they know this shit's going on. And there's one thing in particular that I only found out like 10 minutes ago. That's why the mic's on.
And I was absolutely appalled. And like the thing is like, you know, and I'll give it from both sides for this as well when we finish kind of going through the motions of the Brit wrestling stuff. But yeah, it's just been a really weird couple of days because I've been, I've been, I've had other things to distract me, which I'll go into more on another show. So I've felt like I've been removed because I've had some to play.
I've had things to think about. I've had, you know, stuff to take myself away from this. But me and you have been doing often on a podcast now about wrestling for a very long time. And within that very long time, we've been privileged enough to meet a lot of these people and to see them perform in quite intimate settings with, and that's, that goes for anybody who goes and watches British wrestling regularly.
Now we haven't done that for a while because we're only really just rediscovering the love of wrestling. I mean, talking for myself here, the earth is the same for yourself. But it goes beyond just being outraged and like, you know, the first and the very bottom point is that, you know, the guilt of, you know, we've not been, you know, a victim of any of this. What you instantly feel guilty and that's maybe a selfish point.
Like, oh, I fucking cheered for that guy. Like, Wolfgang, let's start with that piece of shit. Like, I've cheered for Wolfgang. I was like, oh, Wolfgang's amazing.
Nearly bought a pin from him directly. Was like, oh, you know, he's a really good Scottish wrestler, good for Wolfgang. And he's, and again, assume everything that we're saying is, is that it's an accusation and it's not been proven. However, you know, no smoke without fire comes, you know, accused of taking pictures of underage girls outside of school.
Now that's not, now, WWE today have released Jack Gallagher. And the reason, this is the reason why I've canceled the network, because it's different rules for different cons. So he has been accused, and whether or not he just admitted it, and now he's been fired, that might be the case. And if that's the case, fair enough.
But he's been accused of lifting somebody's skirt up, where Matt Riddle, you're potentially next Intercontinental Champion, has been accused of forcibly putting his dick in somebody's mouth. Now, if you're going to have a different fucking standard and will get to you in a second progress, because your standards are the fucking worst. If you're going to have a different standard for a different level of star, you don't fucking deserve my attention. At all.
You don't deserve my nine pound ninety nine month, which you're already screwing me, because other countries get it for cheaper. You don't fucking deserve that, because if you want to push a guy, and again, if he hasn't done it fair enough, whatever, but if you're going to make that snap decision before you even fucking know whether it is or it isn't, so one guy because he's on 205 Live gets sacked. And they're all scum, like I'm not differentiating the scum. It's the company's response.
They've decided that they like Matt Riddle currently. Because I saw something that he got pulled from his debut. And they were changing it. And they obviously didn't change it, because he's in that mix.
And a week ago, I would have been fantastic. What a difference a few days makes. If he's been accused of it, and you're going to sack other people, you can't play favorites. And they are playing favorites with somebody who potentially did something hell of a lot worse than Live Someone's Scrub.
That'll take a breath. No, that's fine. Obviously, a lot of these things that are coming out from women against men. Well, there are like, Matt, like a lot of the Jimmy Havoc stuff, for example, has come from him physically abusing men.
We're talking not sexually here. The guy is punching people, punching a fan of progress. And we'll get on to that. I'm just going to mention it.
But I'm going to just talk about the female stuff. I'm going to talk about the sexual stuff actually. And that's men and women. Same.
But it's a majority of women. Absolutely. I know that the people who listen to the show who I've met, when I'm saying these things, I'm not talking to you guys. I've met you guys.
I know you're all sound as a pound. So if I'm saying anything, I'm not talking about when I say men, I'm not talking about you. If I say you or whatever, I'm not talking about you. But I completely, completely understand all this.
And although it's disappointing, it's not surprising. Because this is just life when you're a woman. And of course, it's in wrestling. Of course, it's in fucking wrestling.
I'm talking about a, we all watch wrestling the royal way. Because it's a capism. It's fun. When the world's burning, you've got wrestling.
It's something that you don't have to worry about. They don't mention fucking coronavirus. They don't mention all the bad shit that's going on in the world. It's a soap that you enjoy.
And unfortunately, a bi-proxy effect of that is that you kind of expect that Disneyland vibe extends to all the people you like. Because you do invest in individuals. The whole point of wrestling, WWE, you know, their stock and trade isn't WWE Raw T-shirts. It's individual wrestling shirts.
They want you to get behind certain people. So our whole approach to wrestling, everyone's approach to wrestling is to get behind certain people and champion them. And they're great. And obviously in the last few years, you know, we've had the rise of women's wrestling.
It's fantastic. It's amazing. And it's escapism. And when your escapism gets exposed as being like every other industry that you've ever known in your life, every other workplace you've ever been in, where you've heard a comment or you've seen something or someone's got sacked because they've done this or someone's had to leave because they've been subjected to this, it's wildly disappointing.
However, how we feel as fans is nothing compared to anything anyone's gone through. Like it's nothing. I would disappointment who gives a shit. I don't care about my disappointment.
Or whatever. As I said in the tweet that I put out, people who come out and talk have literally got nothing to gain but abuse, nothing at all. They're not going to get any money. We're not talking about someone like Harvey Weinstein who's buying people off.
It doesn't happen. Even if you take your escalator to WWE, there's no money. You just just threats. So we're going down to Brit wrestling here where it all started, the speaking out stuff.
There's no money to be gained. There's no fucking persona that you're going to grow because no one's looking to become the next big thing off the back of anything they say. You read all of these stories. They're really embarrassing.
They're embarrassing on so many fronts. And a lot of them do acknowledge, I'm embarrassed that this happened, but it happened. I was drunk or I was this or I was naive. A lot of people are already making apologies for themselves.
And that course they are because that's what someone who has been a victim of abuse does. And that's why they don't instantly go to the police. And there's something that I wanted to say that I said to you last night and I'm going to say it on here because I think that it's important. And if Gaz from Game Bounces listening, Gaz, you're getting dragged into this.
So the story goes like this. Gaz and Andy go to a wrestling show at the age of 16. You're enjoying it. Your favorite wrestler's on.
Your favorite wrestler finishes. You meet, have a meet and greet and they go, oh, you know, do I drink afterwards? And go, yeah, great. Oh, that'd be top.
Amazing. Shit. Looking at you. Amazing.
I'm having a drink with X wrestler. This is top. Oh, we're taking this now. Back to the hotel.
Do you guys want to call him? Yeah, brilliant. Low drinks are flowing. And you sat there with all the wrestlers are there.
This is great. We're too fans. This is unbelievable. We're everyone's having a laugh.
It's funny. We're having a joke. You're getting pissed. You're getting more pissed.
You're getting more pissed. Suddenly, you go to the toilet. One of you is going to the toilet. And a wrestler comes in to the toilet as that's broken you're trying to shag you're a maybe rape show.
Now this didn't happen. This is part of the... Oh my God. This is so...
This hypothetical. That's why I say I'm dragging. I'm dragging. I'm dragging.
I'm trying. Me and Gaz wasn't rape. No, I'm making a point. I'm making a point.
The point is this. That happens. If you run, you got raped by a male or a female. You got sexually assaulted, doesn't matter.
You come out of that bathroom. Gaz is having a fucking minute time still. He's having a laugh. We're travish banks.
That fucking pedo gun. But like, you're all having a laugh. You say, I think that's for a time to go home now. And you go home.
Because you're in that Uber home or you're travelling home and you think that was weird and that was fucking horrendous. And I just want to go home. And I don't want to tell him. I don't want to tell the police.
Because I'm embarrassed. Because I feel a bit humiliated. I shouldn't have been there in the first place. Now I feel a bit stupid about going.
Because of course that was where this was going. So I'm going to go home and I'm going to go to bed. I'm going to forget it happened. So when people say, why are these people coming out on Twitter and not telling the police?
Tell the police. It doesn't even prove guilty. Please. And the reason why I chose you guys is because as a man, it's hard sometimes to imagine what it's like as a woman.
And sometimes you feel like you're in a safe place and you feel like you're having fun. And you're just part of the gang that you're included. You're in a great time. But then shit turns really ugly.
Quickly. Yeah. And I think just to put a note in that if that happened to a guy, it would be just as hard to say something. It'd be worse to say something.
It'd be worse. Especially if it was a female or male thing. If it was a male or male thing, everything is hard. Like you don't know the problem that this sort of stuff is that it doesn't get reported for so many reasons.
Because if that happened, say it's me, say it's you, whoever. But it's more impactful when I say a man because you can't imagine it happening to you. Because it happens to women all the time. And you're a dude and it happens to you.
And you get sexually assaulted by a man or a woman. When they've been playing you with drinks all night and then they're barging on you in the bathroom and do something to you. You want to go home because listen, going to the police is this. You go to the police and if the Crown Prosecution Service says, yeah, great.
We've got a case here. We've got to tell your parents. Parents are in court showing parents to wear someone cross-examine you. Cross-examine you.
Yeah. Well, if it was you Andy, what we'd be doing? It's like, oh, you know, the male wrestler might say, yeah, okay, yeah, we did something did happen with me and Andy. But what you wanted it, and you've got some cross-examine and you're going, don't you like musicals Andy?
Objection? What is that? It's fucking horrendous. It's like, you know your life gets pulled apart and your parents are involved.
Their family's involved. The entire wrestling community you can imagine in your head at that time will be on their side calling you a liar and a slag. So that is why people don't go to the police. Just imagine your life getting pulled apart in a few seconds and you are like, I didn't ask for this.
I thought maybe this was just going to be fun. I didn't realize I was getting invited to become a sex toy. I don't know it. I like to think that everybody is a good person.
Yeah. And of course, everyone then calls you naive because you're stupid. What did you expect? You get invited back.
So you expect not to get fucking abused? Well, we're all adults here. You expect that you're not going to, you shouldn't expect, you shouldn't always think that every situation you go into, you go into get raped. Because otherwise, why would you decide if you thought, well, any woman goes into any situation like that, you know, she's probably going to happen.
Why would you ever decide to have a kid? Because if you have a daughter, you fucked. You know what's coming. You know what's coming down the line.
It's inexcusable. And unfortunately, as women, we get told, oh, don't, you know, I was a young girl and my dad's a very anxious man. But like, I got told as a young girl, if a man ever comes up to you, if a bad man ever comes up to you, I'd offer you a sweet or says, oh, I've got some puppies in the back of my car. That must have been a thing.
Someone must have done that. But if it's puppies in the back of the car, don't go, and what do you say to a stranger? What do you say to the strange man who comes up to you? You say, I don't talk to strangers and you run and you scream and you tell someone.
You grow up like that as a woman. You grow up, men just are bad. They're bad. And then people might go, oh, if you say that, then why would you go back to a hotel with them?
Or why would you have a drink with them? Well, you do because you're a human. But you've always got in the back of the head. You heard the unfortunate men are bad.
It can happen. So then when something happens like that and a woman doesn't scream, you say no, run away, fight. It's because they're frightened of the man who's going to kick the shit out of them or murder them. So in the back of your head always is, I might get murdered here or I might get punched in the face if I say to this person, get away from me and leave me alone.
He might punch me and break my jaw. Well, we've seen Riddle punch people before. Exactly. So when people say, oh, why do the woman just scream and cry out and fight?
If you're a woman fighting against a man and he decides that he's going to get angry, as a woman, you're going to get angry. As a woman, you are frightened of that person. All you want to do is diffuse the situation in a nice way. Oh my God, what was that noise, Jesus?
It's the icon. It's the shit itself. But like, that's the problem. When people say, oh, I would have kicked and screamed and fought.
You wouldn't. She's survival instinct kicks in. And you will do whatever you need to do to try and not make that person angry. And unfortunately, for some of these women, not making that person angry might mean doing something sexual with them to get them to not hurt them.
That was the whole Riddle allegations. Get on my dick. No. What if I make you?
What if it sounds around the throat? Yeah. What if I make you get on it? And then she ends up sucking them off.
Now, good times I probably put two things in there. So one, and it's many years ago now, is that we've been messaged from a wrestling fan who was putting this across as a bit of a joke. And that's the thought that I had at the time. Oh, you know, it's a joke thing.
Well, when you really think about it, it's tough. Because, you know, a lot of, and this is kind of what we were saying last night, because we were talking about it last night in this particular incident. So that was this wrestling fan who went to a show, was getting something signed by a female wrestler, and she grabbed his dick. Now that shocked me to the point I was like, really?
Did she really do that? Or are you just kind of having a joke? And he's like, no, no, she just grabbed my dick. Who, interestingly enough, one of the female wrestlers who's being quite vocal at the moment, which I thought was very interesting.
But that in itself is, you know, the thing we were kind of talking about is that person had gone to the police, they'd be laughing at him saying, or did you not like it? Because that's like the mentality. And I'm not saying that that's any bad or any better, any worse than what any of these guys are doing. It's just an example, because that's the only example male or female that we've been given before that we've got some personal thing in it.
But the conversation then led to some wrestling fans. And the person who told us, you know, is a very normal kind of, you know, regular guy, you know, I think we're all, everybody listens to the show, he's very regular. But we all know that one person that isn't regular, that is maybe a little socially off, is maybe a little bit on the spectrum, who, if that happened to, could have took that in a horrendous way. Now I'm not saying that the wrestler who did it was being like that.
Maybe they're just probably falling, maybe just their sense of humor, don't care. But if you do that to somebody who maybe can't handle that, that is all, that is a really bad situation to be in. Because a lot of these stories that are coming out, you know, are people, try to lift up people's skirts. And you know, I've not seen too many of the differences.
I've not gone through it like you have, because I just don't, you know, I don't want to fucking area. I just want these guys to be fired. These guys and girls to be fired and to be never spoke of again. But unfortunately that doesn't solve the situation.
It has to be. It's like with anything, you have to have the education side of things before anything can change. So, you know, that part of it was what I thought was kind of pointing to say, is that we've had somebody tell us that something like that's happened. And you're thinking about what you're like, Jesus, yeah.
Yeah, and we laughed. We laughed before it was. I thought it was a genuinely funny. We thought it was funny.
And so did they. But it's not okay. People in positions of any sort of power exerting that any thing is, is that what makes me particularly like laugh in a non funny way about it, is wrestlers don't need to do that together. No need to do that to get laid.
Nobody does. Nobody needs to do that to get laid. No one needs to have that sort of weird psychosexual power over somebody. Whether it's a terrible, terrible, coercive fucking horrible relationship like the Travis Banks, Millie Mackintosh.
Why do I not know her name? Millie. Millie Mackenzie. I don't want to say Mackenzie.
Millie Mackenzie, sorry. That was a fucking horrific. I talked about some like complete abusive behavior in a relationship. It's so unnecessary.
It's ridiculous. She's not fucking groomed as well. Yes. Yeah.
She was 15, someone groomed her and then he fucking, he then took over. It's a fucking nightmare and it is against the law between the ages. So obviously the age of consent in the UK is 16. However, if you're between the age of 16 to 18 and someone in a position of power, ends up in a relationship with you.
It's against the law. Do you know what I mean? So it's like it was against the law. What you did?
Because he was her trainer, Travis, when he joined in. She was between the age of 16 to 18 so she can legally have sex. So it's still in that point where if you're in a position of power, it's illegal to get into a relationship with them. So it was wrong on all levels.
And some of the things she's posted in a render, she's posted some screenshots of conversations between them both. Then banging on her hotel room door, sat outside of room and she's saying, please fuck off. And she's so blunt in all messages and his messages are a render. It's like, I love you.
Open the door. I love you. You're the best person ever. Please, please, please, please join leave me alone.
And he's just like, I will never leave and all this shit. Just just a nutcase. An absolute fucking nutcase. We can talk about all the fucking separate things.
And the more you get into it, the more you leave yourself open to people going, I have what you need to prove it. The overriding thing is, I mean, that's proof and off her posting messages. No, I'm not. Yeah, I've moved by.
I'm not talking about her. That's done. Travis Banks for me is done. Like it's there.
I'm talking about everybody else. Fuck the individual cases. There's a systemic problem in wrestling. There's a systemic problem in anything.
And it's a lack of respect for mainly females, mainly them. So I'm just going to focus on that. I know what happens to the men too, but like it's rarer. Like it's not impossible, but it's more prevalent with women.
And the only thing that we can do if we're talking about not talking about individual cases and talking about what we can do, which is what the Black Lives Matter thing was about, what can we do? I know it's happening. So why do we keep labour in the point? It's in our shocks.
Our shocks and our frontiers. How sad? It makes no, that's not going to solve anything. So let's not talk about how shocks and how a poll to be out.
Let's talk about what we can do about it. And what we can do are a few things. Money is number one. Money you withhold your money.
You hurt them. So the people who are the individuals who are the teachers, the companies that aren't responding particularly well. I've got a world on that. So let's move on to that.
So the companies that are not dealing with this in the way that you would, they should be, not that you want them to be. No, they should be. We don't spend any money with them anymore. That's simple.
Because guess what? There's a lot of great people out there and there's a lot of really good wrestlers out there who don't deserve to be cancelled, who have worked really hard. They've never raped anybody. They've never emotionally manipulated anyone.
They've never taken photographs outside fucking high schools of underage school girls coming out of school. There's a lot of people who have just gotten to this industry because they are passionate about it and they're like us. They're fucking marks. We love this shit.
So our money is a big thing. The other thing is, and this is tough, but only from a certain perspective. If you go to a show, don't allow people to get cracked onto when they clearly don't want to be. Even if, I would say this, even if somebody, you're not sure if they want to be or they're not.
Step in, you've got fuck all to lose. Yeah, you might, you might turn around and go, it's fine. Leave me alone. Or whatever you walk away.
It's not who cares. Be aware of the, have your ears and your eyes open of any women who are there who are in a situation where people are being inappropriate. I'm not talking about, again, with the going back to this Black Lives Matter thing, where it's like, oh, you know, if I see someone saying the N word, I'll call them out. You're not going to see someone saying the N word.
It's going to be more subtle than that. It's much more subtle than that. That's easy. You can solve that problem easily.
You report them, turn around and turn the time to shut the fuck up. If they get abusive, again, report them. So it's, you're not going to go to a show in the future and someone is going to be having their hand up to someone skirt in public in the middle of thing because everyone's on that. I'm talking about the subtle shit, about language when you hear people talk in a certain way.
And you, if you turn around and know it's hard, it's very hard this. And turn around and ask someone to stop. You're doing so much work as a woman. I've got to say that men standing up to men is a big deal.
But I'll preface it with this. The girl you ever stand up for will automatically assume you're standing up for her because you want to shag her. She will, because that's just life. That's her fucking life.
That's how she views men. If you stand up and go, stop saying that about her. She'll think, oh, he wants peace now. So he wants me to say thanks and probably wants to crack onto me.
So don't expect to thank you. In the same way that a Black person will never thank a white person, their oppressor for being non-racist or anti-racist. A woman will never, I shouldn't have to thank you or throw her arms around you or owe you anything for standing up for her because that is just a human. We should all just act that way.
That should be the default setting. You should be nice human. Absolutely. So even if you stand up for somebody and she just looks at you and then walks away, doesn't matter.
She doesn't owe you a thank you. A woman does not owe a man a thank you for standing up for her. She might give you a thank you, but she doesn't owe you that. Because in her ed, she's thinking, is this another creep?
She's coming at a different angle. And that's the hardest thing to realise. It's been the hardest thing to realise for a lot of white people about Black Lives Matter. Don't expect to thank you.
And that's why the people on social media have got virtue of signaling and everything. And I think they want someone to pat them on the back. No, your default setting should be that. You don't deserve a thank you.
In the same way that if you're gay and someone comes up to you and says, I used to be homophobic and say horrible things. And I used to be gay men up. But I get it now. He's not a thank you for it.
She's not going to thank you for it. She'll just walk away from you and go, congratulations. You've just hit your default setting. What do you want from your model?
So it's not about going out of your way to be patted on the back. None of us should be patted on the back. We should all just be decent humans. And that's the thing.
It shows. If you continue going to shows, do the right thing, but do the right thing because it's the default setting, not because you want to pat on the back. And as I say, when I say you, I'm not talking about people listening, I'm talking in general because I'm spouting shit. I know people who listen aren't those people.
But there are. We know a lot of men who call themselves feminists to get laid. So, yeah, who use that tag to get laid. Yeah, to get girls to go off banks for that so that they can then prey on them and shag them.
They're no different. So it's all about just being a fucking decent human and calling out shit here there and everywhere. But it's racist, sexist or homophobic. And the problem is, I'm just going to carry on with just a second.
We call out a lot of racism and we call that homophobia. But misogyny is just a default setting that a lot of men and women, but mostly men have. Because it's easy to hate on women. It's fucking easy.
They're weaker. They just fucking holes to shag. Like, they're just there to be for me to fuck them. It's easy to hate a woman.
It's universally accepted. Any of those guys listening to this show who grew up in the 90s or nortes and watch any sort of movie, even if it was a fucking Disney film, girls are to be saved and to be married and fucked. Or, you know, the Megan Fox fixing the car in Transformers. They're just there to see their ass and to be over-billed.
We've all been fed this shit. It's not all our fault. We've been fed a lot of shit. If you go back a little bit further than that, it's, you know, if you're James Bond, you get to slap a few people.
Oh, slap them. You know, they're just second-class citizens. And that's why you get a lot of men who grow up and go, oh, you know, I would love to have kids. Don't want a daughter, though.
Because they know how they thought about girls in their life. They thought about them as just things to fuck. And the thought of having a daughter is horrifying until they have one. Like, it's fucking horrendous.
And then they have one. And then it's like shit. And again, I know Brian who listens to this has a daughter. And I was thinking of Brian actually about this because his daughter's really into wrestling.
And it's like, what if she wants to train? What's he thinking? What about that one that you saw? There was a man who posted on Twitter saying, my daughter's a ten and she's wrestling training and she's all pulling out the training.
And that was one of the questions actually, what it's supposed to Brian. And like, how do you feel about if you don't want to train now? Like, Jesus Christ, you know, I'd want to be there. I'd want to be there at every training session to check that nothing, nobody's going down.
And that's sad. Because we'd send our sons there. We'd send our sons there. We shouldn't because it happens to men too.
But it mainly happens to women. But the thought of a girl alone with a bunch of dudes who were handsy is terrifying. It's fucking awful. It shouldn't be because wrestling is a profession that you should be able to do without the threat of rape and sexual abuse and bullying and just being treated like a piece of shit on someone's shoe.
It's just, it's a backward industry. It's more backward, I think, than a lot, to be honest. I think there's more progressive places out there. I think you could even argue, probably football.
Soccer is more progressive right now. Well, Rushford is doing some great fucking work. He is. Yeah, actually.
I'm not squinting from X. So fun. But yeah, that's, I don't know if I've made any sense. I'm really sorry I've been in the info here.
No, you haven't been in care here in at all. For me, you've been absolutely on the morning. And I can't say that any more eloquently than you have. So I'm not even going to try.
Oh, but I agree with everything that you've said. The whole part on the back thing, I think a lot of people, it's kind of what's been pissing me off about social media. And Jassalynk, Anthony Jassalynk, who's a comedian. Do you need to come?
Yes, I do actually. Give me a week. That's an axe. Unsuggesting, you know, he's a comedian.
He's a very outraged culture comedian. But he has a bit about people who respond with thoughts and prayers. So he's first sort of inevitably stand up special with thoughts and prayers. And it's a very cynical take.
But I think it's a very true take on a lot of people who, you know, we've all kind of met. Who, you know, let's put the religious, you know, thoughts on social media and say thoughts and prayers to do, do, do, do. Join this several times. And it's not because they genuinely give a shit about that person.
It's don't forget about me today. It's like all this spatch is happening, but little old me still needs a bit of attention. And actually all the time, that's why I've come off, you know, Facebook pretty much entirely. Twitter, I'm not on any more apart from doing the other thing for the show.
Instagram, most people are muted or blocked. If I work with them, because you're avoiding the awkward conversation. But I'm very rarely on Instagram anyway. I'm just not on it.
It's because I'm sick of people who have got five followers saying hashtag whatever the thing is at the time. It's like more often than not, it's a passing thought of fuck, where were you a year ago, when this all really started kicking off. So this is where I wanted to get to the first point you made about talking with your money. Now, we've again been in a very privileged position over the years that we've done the show where we've got to go to many different shows.
We've got to go and cheer for many different people. And we've got to go and do things that not because of the show, but because of the, you know, the fortunate situation that we're in. We've got to do a lot of things that a lot of other people don't get to do. So that aside, you know, we, I am going to go after progress.
I am going to go after WWE because they deserve to be going after. And I think AEW's on the block. They're on deck. Absolutely.
For a little baseball, am I getting that right? Oh, fucking out don't, babe. You're just going to do it. It's basically, it's a quote Goldberg, AEW next because they really got to tread carefully with this because obviously, you know, we're just getting into it and we're very big fans at the moment.
So I'm going to start with progress because I think this is particularly, it's not the worst of the two of the two scenarios I'm going to give. But, and Kyle Gack, if you still listen to how you're doing, Kyle, we've experienced progress in social media. First hand, I say they, it's one particular guy, I can't remember his name, but he's a fucking asshole. I don't think it's, he's on the commentary.
Oh, okay. He's a person. He's a nice guy. Okay.
So, he's the only name that sprang to mind. It wasn't Jim. Yeah. But the other guy, so progress has got a bit of a, again, what I'm not trying to do is do his dog pile because, you know, that's not for itself.
But what we can say is our own experiences and also other people's experiences when they've posted responses. So, we were talking about being excited to have a ticket for a chapter that we were going to. And I can't remember how or why it got to have any response. But we said, or really excited about going to, this is progress, chapter, whatever it was, at the O2, Ritzing Manchester.
And Kyle was like, oh, great, I've got a ticket as well. I don't know if we said anything that warranted the response and if we did, then fair enough. But we've got a response from progress wrestling, basically telling us to shut the fuck up because some people didn't get a ticket. Now, we know every single person who's gone to a progress show is instantly said, after I've said that quote, that comment, bull shit.
Because we used to talk about it on the show all the time about them falsely selling shows out. And then on whatever the fucking was, what was the platform? Is it C tickets or something? Some fucking pro platform where you can only resell tickets at face value.
Now, we came to the conclusion at that time that, you know, if you do fudge the fucking tickets, but then put them on there, then what's the point? Like, what's silly thing to do? You might as well just fill it out. Yeah, the week that's just to jump in the week before we used to joke and go, oh, we go seven days out.
That's what the tickets start flying in now. Hundreds. So for a venue for wrestling events as a capacity of 700 people, there was hundreds of resell tickets. Yeah, that come in a week before the sold out show.
It's like all those people, we used to laugh and go, all those people aren't just auto buying tickets and then they all suddenly can't go in a week before. Like it's auto bullshit. So we came on and basically was telling us to show up because some people don't, can't get a ticket. So I responded saying, well, you should push all those people because I felt fucking aggrieved by it.
It was rude. It was really rude. For a fan paying to go and see your show, it was rude. So I said, well, what about fucking see tickets, whatever the fucking one.
I can't remember it's called, but there's hundreds on there and never got a response, obviously. Now that pales in comparison to this one. Hi guys. So this is from a guy called David Lloyd who went, and this is a long time ago.
Nice. Not your scepter. David Lloyd, because he can handle himself. But he, there's a guy called David Lloyd and he's been very, we don't know him, but he's been on Twitter and everything, giving his, giving his thing about Jimmy Havoc.
And this is his email to progress. Hi guys. Really, and this, just think of the tone of this because I'm sure if this happened to me, my tone wouldn't be this nice. Brilliant show yesterday.
My first one. And thoroughly enjoyed it. Went to the world's end afterwards. Great to see all the guys from the show there as well.
However, I saw Jimmy Havoc at the bar and simply said, great match to him and he punched me in the face. As you may have seen, I've asked Havoc why he did this last night on Twitter today and he can't remember the incident. I've called the pub as I do off CCTV and I mean two minds were not to report to the police. To be honest, I'm not happy with the incident, but don't want to be the headache.
I don't want the headache of going to the Met. I just want to make you guys aware of the incident because it really put a down on me for what was a top show and after beers. So afterwards, this is Progress's response. Hi, David.
Thanks for the email. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. While I can fully see that being punched in the face by anyone isn't a pleasant experience. Let's just hold it there just for one second.
See, I've not read this fully. While I can see that being punched in the face by anyone isn't a pleasant experience. That is like saying, I'm not racist, but we continue. As I'm sure you can appreciate once the event is over, Progress is not responsible for the actions of anyone associated with the company as a performer or support crew.
Talent are not contracted to us in that way. They are independent wrestlers. From your description, it sounds as if Jimmy was trying to protect his character. Now, they redeem themselves astronomically.
But had a little bit too much to drink. That is not an excuse. Million observation of how it looks from here. If you want to report it, you're entirely at liberty to do so.
I will be calling Jimmy Havok this evening to find out what happened and where appropriate we will take the necessary disciplinary steps. Now, we've got to give a shout out to Pete Dunne because he's been really good during this. He's been in where everyone, a lot of people have been very, very quiet. He's been all over this.
Very vocal. Which I've all loved. Definitely did it. Whenever something like this happens, sorry, I know you're about to say, what is necessary is hearing from particularly male talent coming out in support of any sort of abuse.
Because it tends to be dished out by the dudes. So it's very nice that he's been all over it. He's very confident. He mustn't drink.
He's confident he's done nothing. I think it's the ones that drink who will like shit. Anyway, carry on. So he quoted me, basically, he tweeted it with a face-pile emoji and then put it for the record.
I can't say anything about the allegation itself as I was in there. And they have no information outside of the tweet. But the way this was handled is shocking. And it is shocking.
If you got that response, so let's say, you know, let's take a different, you know, different sport. Your football, cantonard, kicking people in the head. You know, that happened. Yeah.
And I know that was a lot more public and that wasn't something that was pissed out. So, you know, regardless of the situation, I'm sure that fun was taken care of. Like, I'm sure he was giving free tickets. And I know that doesn't condone it.
But I'm sure he's giving free tickets. I'm sure he was giving an apology. I'm sure he was giving a free shirt that everyone signed. I'm sure they were fucking scrambling to try and get that person not to report it to the police.
And so, what do you do? If Progress took you into your wing and said, oh, you've been to one show, well, how about you can go to a year's worth of shows for free? Because we have all these tickets that we try and put on this resale site. So, so there's definitely space for you there.
And, you know, and I don't know what happened after it. I don't know if he got an apology. So, obviously, he's first week. So, I've had a few issues with Jimmy Hallek over the year.
And this was the first one back in 2014. And still annoyed by Progress's response. And this was June 19th, 2020. They tweeted this.
So, we obviously haven't got an apology. And it's had a few other runians with him as well, which sounds... Inside, yeah. That sounds absolutely mad.
So, you know, you'd expect that he would be beside himself if he can't fucking remember what happened. Like shit, I punched a fan in the face. So, let's break it down to the lowest form here. And that the reason why you can wrestle is because of that guy.
So, and I know, and we always say like, you know, even though that's the case, wrestlers are not behold by you. You know, don't go up to an airport. When they try fucking get a connecting fly, don't... A badgerim, don't hustle outside hotels and all this crap.
You know, don't do any of that stuff because it's not... Again, it's your base level. It's your base level, you know, be a decent human being like you were saying. So, don't do any of that stuff.
However, after Graps drink, you know, where all the wrestlers are there and the fans can interact with you, there's got to be certain level of professionalism. You know, if you're going to be at about that drinking, where there's a load of fans who came to your show and just watched you, because let's face it, there weren't that fucking many in 2014. So, if you're going to do that, if you're going to go to one of those events, you need to be professional. If you want to picture taken, you take the picture because it's an after show event.
It's not a fucking... the guys randomly come up to you in the street and he's being abusive and wants a picture and he's like, you know, not that that's an excuse to punch someone, but this isn't that... We're not talking about this, we're talking about an after event drink, where the fan got punched in the fucking face. Then not only does he get punched in the face, but then the company say that what we think's happened there, so you're fully within your rights, they're going to put it, because it's got nothing to do with us.
