He served as Chief Fire Officer of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Deputy Commissioner of the London Fire Brigade, where he led counter-terrorism response capabilities and advised UK government ministers during some of the UK's most consequential incidents including the Grenfell Tower fire. Steve was awarded the Queen's Fire Service Medal (QFSM) in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours for exemplary leadership.Since retiring from operational service in 2021, Steve has served as strategic advisor to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's national resilience framework and as Director of Response for the Red Sea Global Fire and Rescue Service.
