112 - Kickstarting SA
from The Adelaide Show · host Auscast Network
This week we reflect on the SA economy in the wake of the announcement that coal mining at Leigh Creek is closing much faster than anticipated. We'll track the history of Leigh Creek, look for economic development lessons and turn to other parts of our economy for signs of growth or for fertile patches that need incubation. And we'll do this with the help of: Lesley Williams and Simon Zappia from Botanica Boutique (Lesley will also provide our music tonight through her band More And More) And economic development consultant, Brian Hales In IS IT NEWS, Nigel tests us on the theme, Mining. Max Martin notes: "Exercise will certainly increase creativity for writing, and if more motivation is needed, it also increases libido!" George Inglis reflects on the downturn of mining and the protest against plans for Martindale Hall. Our SA Drink of the week is from Spook Hill. In the Adelaide Visa Council, we'll try to untangle an ambiguous tweet. But first, David Washington from In Daily presents his midweek news wrap, Talk Of The Town.Support the show: https://theadelaideshow.com.au/listen-or-download-the-podcast/adelaide-in-crowd/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
