112. Trail Team - Cheer Episode 6 (AT)

In this episode, we hear from thru-hiker founder, and soon to be triple-crowner, Cheer, as she continues her 2023 thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail! Week 6 on the Appalachian Trail covers the miles from Hampton to Bland, Virginia hitting a new milestone as Cheer crosses the 500 mile marker, a quarter of the trail! Cheer makes a planned scenic detour on the Virginia Creek trail with great views, a flowing river and great lunch spot! In this episode we hear about Cheer's favorite day on trail to date with a record 27 mile day through the famed Grayson Highlands with expansive views and a wild ponies encounter! She finished this stretch with a visit to an 1890s farm at the Settler's Museum and a stay at the Bear Garden Hiker Hostel.
