Dear Families of Room F1, We’re going to have a great upcoming week. Below is a short description of what’s coming up and important links and/or announcements: Watch These Announcements on Video Here Mr. Gray’s Class Podcast Class Website Spring Conferences: For those of you with spring conferences, they are currently scheduled to take place Zoom. If you’d like to change that to in-person, please let me know. Talent Show Information (Fill out form and send back by April 1st) Reminder: The Week of March 28th-April 2nd is full of minimum days. Every day next week school will end at 1:40. Update: Jog-A-Thon Friday March 25th (Turn in Pledge Envelopes to Mr. Gray by April 1st) Our run time is first thing in the morning (8:25-8:55) so students should come dressed to run. Open House Thursday, March 31st 6-7pm Multiplication and Division Facts Practice Spelling Words - The kids will receive the words Tuesday, practice during the week, and take the quiz on Friday. Follow along with our Wordament! Reader’s Workshop The students will spend the week reading for fun and working on a character project. Writer’s Workshop The kids will finish publishing their animal information books and work on a short poetry project. Math What happened to math class? We start a new mini-unit on mass and volume. We will start by studying the meaning of mass and then compare objects that measure in grams and objects that measure in kilograms. Social Studies The kids will investigate rules, rights, and laws. We will begin our study of “citizenship” and what it means to be a good citizen. Science We will continue our weather unit by what it means to be a meteorologist. We will also study the tools of weather data collection by exploring thermometers and start a weather diary. Thank you, Mr. Gray
