More and more women are getting big chops, starter locs etc and really getting to know their crowns. However, there’s a lot of misinformation out there on how to care for your hair. Today we’re joined by Dr. Isfahan Chambers-Harris to set the record straight on the science of hair care and share her story on the creation of Alodia Hair Care.Dr. Isfahan Chambers-Harris earned her B.S. in Biology from the City University of New York and Ph.D. in Bio-Medical Sciences from Morehouse School of Medicine, Cardiovascular Research Institute in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Isfahan officially began her medical career as a postdoctoral fellow at Vanderbilt School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. After earning her Masters, she went on to become a Presidential STEM Fellow at the National Institutes of Health ((National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) in Bethesda Maryland.As a black woman, mother, PhD Medical Scientist, and Trichology practitioner, Dr. Isfahan understands first-hand the misinformation that exists around textured hair and she is committed to educating women on holistic health approaches to healthy hair and scalp care. In 2017, Alodia Hair Care was launched. Today, Alodia is an internationally sold, award winning, clean scalp and hair care brand. Alodia has been featured in Essence, Elle, Vogue, BlackDoctor.org and Forbes magazine just to name a few.
