I don't know what to make, but what could happen with nail guns is it hits something inside that bit where it could be a knot, it could be anything, it could just be misfired. And what happens, it goes into the rafter or the baton and comes straight back out underneath. So it goes through the baton, back around the way your thumb sits and it just goes straight into your thumb. Like, and I've had that happen to be twice.
That's it now. I've never ever hold in my hand in that position now. Like you've just, I recondition myself. Yeah.
But it's, it took pain, a lot of pain, a lot of fucking blood to work that out. But like I said, the same with the chisel, I'm sure that when you're missing a chisel, and you're hitting your hand, there's a reason why you know, kind of know the reason why you missed. You work in a tension or all that sort of stuff, you know? A lot of it as well as like factors down to, that's all you're doing for eight hours.
You lose your fucking concentration. But yeah, you got to not do that, obviously. Yeah. I've done so.
Yeah. Welcome to Turbo Work Radio, mate. Construction, radio. Yeah, construction, radio.
Yeah, man, obviously, obviously the same, more consequences when we're doing tree work, you have to learn from each other some mistakes, people holding something while kind of the chainsaw. Not a good idea of any way, but you do it. And then let me just go straight to it, Will. What is the worst thing that you've kind of seen or done yourself work as a tree surgeon?
Or you must have had some horror stories. One of the scariest things I've seen had like the least outcome was felling these big hardwood trees, like big maple sycamores and shit like that, you know, big hard, hard trees. And this one, you know what I mean? I'm going to hold my hand out and like give it like the claw.
Like, you know, some trees, they go nice, big, they're straight in and they're a big claw. Yeah. So we knock these trees over and we cut off all the fucking skinny trees. There's loads of us around, one or two people on the saws and everyone else is just scavenging all these branches as soon as they're cutting them.
We'll leave in the fucking big girthy logs to whatever, cut up or whatever. And we all backed off, you know, someone else is going in and starting to cut the big logs. And the tree just rolled on top of them and pinned him down straight across the chest. Like, you know, imagine like a half a foot circle, you know, six, seven, eight long attached to like a 12, 15 foot long, you know, probably like a ton and a half tree.
Yeah, how much? How much? Well, maybe even two, two tons sort of thing as a guess. But you know, like a tree is told of a house with a fucking 15 foot, 20 foot span on it.
Yeah, rolled on top of them. And it was one of those things that there's three of us watching is just like, everyone just kind of had a two or three seconds of, all right, how the fuck are we going to tackle this? You know, that shit happened so quick. Everyone's got a little bit of an idea.
And like someone started to saw her instantly as if they're like, you know, we might have to cut this off of him. And I think, yeah, we literally just ran over and luckily we was a, you know, it was obviously on a pivot point. So we was able to pivot right off of them. He was fine, you know, fucking luckily full of adrenaline.
And the next day probably had some really bad bruise ribs and said he could barely roll out of bed. But that was a scary, scariest one. Seen a couple of good gashes. That's mad though, that like you're saying, people are even thinking about grabbing a sore.
Yeah, if I'm in that situation, mate, I'm kind of not because I'm not doing every day. But that could take some of his life massively because surely, I mean, if it's three isn't too bad, you could get up. Can you could get up for enough time, you know, three blokes adrenaline going, you can lift a heavy shit easily more than you can. But some situations you ain't going to have that, are you?
You'll never get a tree up. Whereas if you were to cut it half the time, well, whatever it is, until you can get some to actually lift that tree. Yeah, he's dead. Yeah.
Man. Data remember, you know, one of those ones, but it all happens, you know, we was a big contract infirm. We used to chain logs to each other. So there'd be like 10 of us in a big long line, one person, one end picks up a log, throws it, you know, like a foot and a half, by foot and a half cube, throws up the other old boy, he throws it all the way, the last person to the van or whatever.
And we're doing that the first hour in the morning, we're all laughing. Some of one of the old blokes are spinning them. I'm laughing about that. I just, let me just button will.
That's exactly like roofing. Yeah. We throw tiles to each other. Yeah.
If you watch roofers like throwing tiles up to each other and everyone's on the roof, you know, without the tiles on it, you'll throw in. It's, it's mad to even think you're doing it. It's a special thing. It's mad.
It's because you can't, you know, obviously you're not throwing one tile at a time, make your phone five together. So it's, I'm sure like throwing throwing wood at certain sizes, you all know how they fly in the air and how you can catch them easy without hurting yourself and that sort of stuff. But yeah, we'll probably send like, you know, when you work, everyone, you're quite close. You have a good laugh.
One of them, one of the guys used to throw and make it really hard to catch it, if I can spend them away. This is a good heavy chunk, you know, a log, swear foot, you know, it's fucking heavy. I've changed, changed when I was throwing it towards this guy. So I was making it hard for my friend, Tommy to catch.
And I stopped really paying attention to what I was doing for a few seconds. And I just turned around and got one of these logs straight in the face, mate. No help. Yeah.
You know, it's bound to happen at some point. But yeah, luckily I was, it was just, I got hit with the flat side. So I was lucky. So yeah, nothing, no angle.
Yeah. So it was just like a good, good bounce on the other head and managed to laugh off. But yeah, I've seen some, seen a couple chainsaw cuts, nothing too horrific. But yeah, definitely stitches included in this.
Is there a standard kind of chainsaw injury? You know what I mean? Is that one that normally most people fuck up with? Yeah, but I've, I've only ever heard of it normally.
So we have little chainsaws that have a handle on the top when you're climbing. So they're quite ditty, but they're pretty fucking, they're very powerful. And when you climb for a lot, you get a good forearm strength and you can use, then use these one handed quite easy, it's bad industry practice. You're not supposed to do it.
But sometimes you might need to. Yeah, and you can do it at your extremities when you're cutting like it's far away from you. But when you, as you know, work for companies, you're actually trying to do shit as quick as you can, you know, to make the fucking money and get out of there. So you hold it, you cut it and you throw it.
And that's what you do. And it's very quick and effective, but you're doing a lot of movements where you are passing your arm. So a lot of people just cut straight in their arm and obviously very dangerous. One of the old boys who used to work at one of the companies, I used to work at.
Did that, I think he was reaching around and his hit one of his tendons, color of his tendons, like, you know, move it, had to have it all rewired. I think they put his pinky finger in his thumb or, you know, thumb in his fingers. So one of them, you know, he had to learn how to use his hand again. And he thought that was it, you know, but you hear it.
You know, one of my friends who did work at that company, when I was working there, had a tree fall on him. Oh, Jimmy. And he had compound fractures, a lot of it, you know, it's a dangerous game. Same as any big construction, you know, working at heights, working around heavy things, anything you work in, any industry, there's going to be a mistake here or there or a lot on art and you either get away all the time, but there's going to be times you don't.
Yeah, just imagine those, like, you're the person putting something down where a roller goes on the top of it. You know, I mean, that's your job. How often are you going to be going to hospital mate, crushing your fucking fingers up? That's going to happen.
It's inevitable that you're never, like, I'm trying to think of it. It's like if you're in, you know, like a shoe company or something, like a factory and they're pressing buttons into it and shit, you know what I mean? Surely those sort of jobs, because you're doing them all day, every fucking day. Slip up.
You're going to slip up once, you know. For someone is. Yes, exactly. Someone is.
Yeah, out of the 10 workers that day, someone's going to get a fucking. You always hear of the horror stories or, you know, this or that, like, the quarry we work at, sometimes we've run crushes, you know, we're crushing rock into gravel and you all laugh about it or, you know, it's a machine that crushes rock and it comes out in bits. People get put from it. They're like, we all get to, there is a video of someone set of a woman.
I think it's in China. She goes and does a factory check and pretty much just waltzes in in this crush an area and stands in front of a machine, like a loader or whatever. And if you stand in front of a loader, unless you're fucking like seven foot tall, the person can't see, the bucket's too big. It's like a machine.
You cannot walk behind a heavy machine. They probably won't see. So a woman stands in front and someone scoops her up with a load of gravel and puts her in and they don't realize until it's too late. And any industry that happens with everything, because if someone hasn't got the now saw the understanding of their on a work site, like we see that people walk under a tree because they didn't want to walk around the signs that would go up and say, danger, tree cutting.
They walk under a tree. We've got to stop, almost physically stop them. It's the same for us. They have a title for on their ad.
If you see scaffolding, I'm just going to give anyone a heads up. If you ever see scaffolding, you're walking down a street, I would advise you, I would advise you to never walk underneath it if possible. Even if you just go on the road, it's unlikely something's going to hit you if you're on the road. But if they scaffold, you've got gaps in them, they move.
They're not perfect. Not all scaffolders are fucking geniuses. Sometimes they don't get put up that well. We've had it so many times that people can eat it.
But you've got to protect them. You have to make sure that it doesn't happen. It happens all the time. It's one of them.
You're an idiot. Don't walk underneath that tree with the old boy with the chainsaws up it. You think that it's a privilege to walk wherever you fucking want. Yeah, death is going to let you go today.
It's all right here. I got a little cheeky story. I quickly pop out. We was working once in a caravan site, not a gypsy sort of site, just a normal caravan site in Oxford somewhere, probably in a chain or somewhere.
We were working just on the outskirts of the row of four or five trees. There's a group of three of us. Normally you'd get one person, half a two person, half a person on the ground. Quite an open area.
We're all quite nice. Let's all get up a tree each. Let's all take one down. We're all the mess together.
We can all chat to each other while we're in the trees. Nice and easy. I'm at the top of this tree, probably about 35 foot, you know, 10 foot more than your average two story house. High enough.
The tree is probably like 40 foot, but you know, it's like straggly branches at the top. You normally get to the top of a tree if you take it down. You knock the top out if that's the way you go in. Probably not going to be about seven foot after the tree.
Make it nice and easy for you to take it down quicker. It's a bit windy. You've got my chainsaw out, cut a little notch in this tree. Look around or clear.
Warm, cut the tree out. You know, it's a big seven foot branch. A top of a tree if you can imagine comes down. Cyclist comes down nowhere.
Doesn't even look where he's going. Wack. Completely uncovered in this branch. Completely smothered in this branch.
Somehow he didn't fall out. He had just enough momentum in the bike for it to just like slap him all across his face and everything. It almost took him out. He was kind of stopped and was a bit shocked and I was supposed to like, You're right mate.
And I think he just gave me the finger and off he went. Luckily, luckily. Luckily. I've all I'd have been in big doo doo.
Yeah, it's possible. Quick heart attack there. That shit happens. Like Ryan said, you walk past someone in a tree with a chainsaw, a scaffold in people and roofs, anything like shit, man.
Someone could think about people just dropping their phones or something from that height. It could be a bad situation. Yeah, exactly. Keep your eyes open.
The horror stories, I know one kind of personally, someone falling down a manel. Yeah. The cover had been moved. He was going to open up the football changer rooms at night.
Right. No lights were there. So you wouldn't do it. It's kind of rude.
Fucking dropped probably. Probably a good 10 foot mate. Something like that. Well, no, no.
In the dark. I think he did break his leg. Your legs. Luckily, it was before training.
So people were coming to see it and then they found him. Yeah. But if he was there on his own, he could have died mate. He probably would have died.
Oh, mate. If you break a leg or legs and you're down. If you could be in a funny angle, you could have like, yeah. They're like the white and they're at some sort of party or wedding or something.
They're celebrating. They're in the nice silk gowns with the red headscarf sort of thing on. Yeah. They look.
They've probably got their best sandals on. Yeah. You know, they're all snazdered up and everything. They fucking got 8K 47s.
One handed and they fire them into the air and occasionally they've got obviously the gun snaps. Yeah. The gun snaps. Points down and starts shooting at people's fucking feet.
Yeah. It is mad. And then no one's like going up to your book, like giving them a slap or something. No one says anything.
No, they're having a couple of merry drinks or something. It's crazy though. Yes. It's mad.
But like if someone was fucking about near me with a gun like that, I'm gone. Yeah. If someone doesn't get that gun off him, I'm going home. I don't need to be at the office party.
I'll go home. It might be like a little woop but that woop could be like, oh, I've just killed the whole family. Yeah. Yeah.
At least just fuck about, you know, if you're going to do it, we'll get a pistol and fire that in the air. You know, Snail, so Snare can still come down. You know, you always hear about these, you know, I follow a lot of gun things online and there's always the laugh of you. There's the Will Farro and Mark Wahlberg movie like the other guys where they get into shooters gun in the office.
They do a little desk part. And there's always jokes about negligible discharges in places that shouldn't happen inside a house inside. And there was a, there was one that was kind of joked about, but like it was like a military officer somehow letting off a grenade launcher inside. Obviously, like accident.
But like, accidents, anything you can think of me, it must have happened once. If we can think of it, it's probably happened. Like you can't, you can't make this shit up. So you're saying that the rocket launcher blind is legit?
Yeah. Yeah. Like someone posted it. Like someone told me, I was wondering if I stick the rocket in there.
Oh, God. But that, you know, this will go back quickly to something a little bit more horrific. But it's, it's, you know, is it Matt Damon? Did he shoot?
No, Alec Baldwin did. Alec Baldwin. Now going again until like anything can happen on a movie set somehow had a real fucking gun that was loaded and killed someone. Now, at the end of the day, who's fault is that?
Well, Alec Baldwin's an apt actor. Even if he's into guns or not, he's obviously not a John Wick. And whoever the fuck gave him a real gun that was fucking loaded is, I'm guessing is in jail right now. You can't just, you know, is Alec Baldwin to put into it?
If someone's given him the gun on the here we go, it's go time. Probably not. But fuck now. Like Jesus, how does that happen?
It's mad. But I kind of, I don't know about that. That one was a crazy story and like, I like Baldwin's a bit of a fucking, he's got something about him. You know what I mean?
I wouldn't put a lot of celebrities. I wouldn't put a past him shooting that woman because you might piss them off at some point. Like I'm not. Yeah.
He's one of those people that I go like, you know, even like Kevin Spacey and we know that he's obviously turned into being a fucking. Crazy. Busted. Yeah.
Yeah. You kind of know the ones, you know, don't judge a book by its cover, but sometimes do. Sometimes definitely do judge a book by its cover because it could be the fucking murder in the, like Chris Benoit. Like when you look at him now, it's like you could have any wrestler, you would have called it probably being him.
Yeah. Yeah. It's a crazy world. It's a crazy world.
Yeah. I'm trying to think I'll give you a dangerous, a roofing danger story. Yeah. That's a thing.
We were working, it might have been last year, the year before, in the snow, probably around February. Yep. Shouldn't be working. Basically, as a rule of thumb, mate, it should not be working.
Yeah. It's under the right. And you know, ladders, angled terrain, you know, shouldn't be working. So we're up there.
It was, it wasn't high, you know, it was a, it was a garage sort of deal, but it was big enough. Yeah. Big enough, mate. Full size.
It was full size. So, and obviously from the ridge, that's probably, fuck me, could be 12 foot easily. Yeah, probably more than that. Yeah.
So anyway, so up there, and it was, I'm trying to think what we were actually doing. I think we just, I'm finishing off the ridge or doing something like that. And nobody was working with just stretching too far. It's like, let's just move the ladder around there and we'll, we'll set up again.
No, no, get it from me. I get it from me. As I got round to fucking go move the ladder so we could put it in the second spot, because I'm on the other side kind of just helping out, you know what I mean? Like grabbing tools and shit like that.
He's fucking slid down the roof, mate. Cause he's reached, he slid down the roof, fell off the fucking garage onto a shit on a bike rack full of bikes. No. Yeah.
Yeah. And like that was it, it was going over. Like he was, you know, home, possible and, you know, the rest of it. Beat in the fuck up.
Yeah. But he's, I always think that he's actually lucky that he landed on the bikes. It's got to be not the most painful of cushion, but a cushion nonetheless. Because at least, well, unless your head hit like a bar, but if your head just hits the ground from that pipe, you're just getting over.
Well, just a quick interject here. So no, there was someone in the, in one of my local towns going up, I'm pretty sure it was like a, don't know if it's a scaffolding company. They did a lot of ladder work. They probably windowed cleaners or something really.
Just fell off of a transit roof getting the ladders and that was it. He died healthy, healthy old boy, you know, middle aged men, you know, and at the end of the day, that's how easy it is. You know, the scholars and, you know, isn't that fit? We are not that strong.
Yeah. Really. It's like the whole, you know, curve. That's the reality.
It's all about the curve. That's all it takes. That's all it takes. It's all it takes.
Literally your weight going down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Quick, uh, potential danger of a tree worker. It's another good one. We was, uh, working in someone's garden.
There was a couple of us. Normally there's always someone grounding for someone who's cutting someone's, you know, you cutting something away, someone's there grabbing it straight away or whatever. Obviously in it. So I think I was bringing this hedge down just like by a foot or two, an average garden fence, a little bit higher than hedge height, probably cutting it down to about fence height.
Sorry. I'm sketchy ladders. Every company has the little shite set. One probably the average household ladders, but an A frame.
So I was straddling the top of the A frame as high as I could get on it without being on the top because I wasn't about any balance. I got a full size chainsaw and I'm just being cheeky. I'm just, because this is a hedge that's hardly as fucked. I'm just flat top in this guy.
It's going to go back into summer. It's going to look nice. Yeah. And, uh, obviously I'm leaning well over these ladders with this chainsaw trying to get it.
And you know, you obviously just reach as much as you can because every like four foot you've got to get down and reposition the ladder. Make, make your boys just steady in the ladder for me. He's standing it from the side. Narlene all the way out and I fall, um, I fall parallel with, with the hedge.
I don't know if I can't remember if the ladders f fucked up or if I was just leaning too far out. I was falling down with, you know, a full size chainsaw like a 26 inch bar at least. And thank God. Bucky, Luke Buck.
Big, little bit shorter than me but built like a, you know, brick showers is a big big big big boy just caught me in like a, you know, full lay down like Superman. I managed to just kind of, I think I flew through the saw or whatever. And that was all we had. God knows what had happened.
I claimed on the day they say that. Yeah. That's a hero there right there, mate. Yeah, mate.
He didn't, he didn't just, you know, look out for himself and just get out of the way. So yeah, that was a scary one. Yeah. I mean, generally we, uh, if you've got enough people, you've always got someone like on a scaffold below you just to make sure that if the baton's not breaking or something like that they can slow you down.
Yeah. Like you've got to be strong enough to stop something. Obviously like that boy, you know, you've got to be strong enough to catch you. Just like going to that slide now.
Yeah. And you just snap from every single one of them. You just slide it down to you. Hoping that you're going to just yeah, to stop yourself grabbing.
Yeah. Probably saying with a tree as well. You know, stand climbing it is part of the battle. Right.
Surely knowing how to climb a tree is. Yeah. Some trees are so thick. You're just fighting through it.
And then some trees are so branches are so far apart. You just you could be up half an hour for it. Trying to throw your rope over one branch. And you get up onto that one branch.
You could only stand on that one skinny branch. And then the next branch is like 15 foot higher. So you're like getting your rope, you turn it into like a little rounded basket. rounded basket and then you throw an over, hoping you're getting over and sometimes just getting stuck and you can't get down.
So you could be spending an hour getting up a tree before you do anything in it. Yeah, what is the, yeah, is that like your boss is he thinking you're definitely getting up a tree in half an hour, like Max. Albus was a bit of a loose character. So he's the thing, yeah, I could do that.
So he could do that. So it's always just priced on what he could do. Right. But within reason, you kind of know how long things take after a while.
They're, it's kind of like an average time. But there are some of my boys, some of them are just stronger and they can man handle double the size of branch so I could have a tree and place it where you want it to go without breaking stuff. And some people are just so technically advanced that they've got the skill to get things down in rapid times, very efficiently. They've just got the experience to do it.
Some of the time, if you just take an entry down, you're just cutting it down. There's no grace involved. You can put spikes on so like you can climb up holes. You don't need anything.
You can just run up a tree. You get up at 100 foot pole in like five, 10 minutes if you're taking time, or depending on how good you are and how quick you are. But yeah, there's some people really, I'm sure it's the same with roofing. Some people really have the finesse and the skill and the experience.
Just need enjoy it. You know what I mean? They've got the flow, everything's going so smooth. It's just happening.
The natural one announced how to operate in that environment. Like there's one old boy that's worked with us recently. And he basically, you walk up and down a roof like a ladder. You just make sure you just, you never walk down a face first.
You'd always come down as a ladder. You can just, you know, I can walk up it without my hands if I need to. But there's no need really. You can always, it's always good to have a hand ready for yourself.
You've got to carry you up there, sometimes you gotta do it. But it's a boy, he was walking down. It's a big old boy. He really went up there, but he was helping us out.
He was hands first walking down a roof for me. Hands first. Really? Yeah, so his hands have an absolute nightmare.
And I'm like, what the fuck are you doing? What, he just in his head, he thought that was the safest way to get down. Yeah. Like not use it as a ladder.
You know, it looks like a ladder. Use it as a ladder. But no, he was, I remember being on a dormer of like a decent two, two-story, but big old house up on the ridge of that. And he was supposed to be standing on the ladder that I was on.
Yeah. Because if he doesn't, that ladder can slip out. And you have someone stay on that ladder. You know, they're literally standing on that bottom run until you're done.
I look back. Well, I kind of felt something change. I think obviously going away out, but I just moved the millimeter or something. So I look back and he wasn't on it.
He was like checking his phone or something. Oh God. I was like, what are you doing? You can do me as a fucking die right now.
If you're not just standing, you can check your phone on the ladder, mate. I don't care. He's in the ladder. He's in the ladder.
You know, but just you have to be on it. But yeah, that was sketchy. Yeah, nothing happened. But so scary, heart and mouth sort of situation.
It's like, well, I could be fucked right now. And this is this is it. I died because he was checking his phone. Oh, mate.
Yeah, we get it all like you've been in a tree about to cut something out and you look down at someone just right underneath you. You've already been like, heads up. You got your aim, I've seen everyone and you look down there's someone there and sometimes you got a griller more people griller and people grow you like, you know, do you want to fucking you want to get hit? Yeah, this could be it.
Do you get it where you have disputed people? Yeah. Like say if someone comes out and you know, they've been down a street for 50 years, man. That tree's always been there.
So then you're up there just about to chop this fucking down. Excuse me. Excuse me. You're allowed to be cutting out.
You get it all noise complaints. But yeah, why are you cutting that thing down? Like, well, actually it's it's got a disease. It's going to fall down if we don't cut it down or sometimes yeah, it makes sorry, fucking it's got to come down.
Someone's paid for it. It's private. I'm lucky. You know, if you like, but then you can get tree preservation orders so people can like secure a tree if it's they want to pretty much.
But yeah, you get it all with that. My boss has had people like sit under a tree and he's took down trees and just not hit him. Just continue to do it. Fucking hell.
I've seen videos they were on the big tree surgeon Facebook groups and that people in England who tried to climb the tree to get people to stop. And that's like a tree that's their neighbor's property or something. Some people have no. I get it.
You know, I mean, and yeah, you know, some of the trees we're only looking after. Yeah, I mean, you love trees, man. You love trees. More than most people.
Yeah. But the same, you know, you see what do it. It's what if it's got to come down. If it's in some of us, a garden, unfortunately, that isn't your fucking tree.
It's shit. It's lovely to see it. You've always seen it. And like I remember my family home, we had a tree in a like in this little kind of grass like D shape part like next to the driveway.
And that tree was always there. And that, you know, like a I don't know what the fucking tree was. But it basically was a yeah, orange little berries on it, mate, more closer orange rather than red and the bark had like a almost like a silverness like it was it was generally dark, but a bit of a silverness to it. Right.
Right. Then it was a victory. Yeah, I'd say it was a massive massive. It was a massive I'd say, you know, ten inch, ten inch trunk at the bottom, maybe at best.
And the height of it was probably the same heart as the house. Yeah. It could have been a an amount of ash. Mounting ash.
Or a row and ash as well. That's what it was. That's what it was me. Yeah.
That's what it was. Yes. Anyone is a mountain ash. Yeah, that tree doesn't exist anymore.
They cut it down. So it was upsetting. You don't generally get too big as well. So for a bit tall one, that would be nice.
Yeah, yeah, it was a nice tree, but it's not our house anymore. So it's unfortunately. Someone didn't want to. You know, that's just how it is.
That is just how it is. Obviously that tree had a certain amount of value to me, but we can do about it. Yeah, that's it. Nothing.
So it is one of them. People have got to kind of grow up a little bit of that. Yeah. So I bet there's been some trees that you've probably looked at.
I go, fuck, this is showing to cut this one down. Oh, yeah. So I'm like this lovely walnut tree in the garden. And then the fuckers, yeah, it was beautiful.
And they're like, yeah, we'll just have you cut it all up into firewood until like tiny bits. And it's like, you don't normally see a fat walnut like that. You know, straight, more of a straighter forestry style tree. But it's fucking fat.
And it's really dark on the inside. It's beautiful. And they're like, yeah, that's firewood for us, you know, for us for us for like five years. And so, yeah, you could sell that and make money.
Yeah, I'd buy it with an extra cash. Yeah, definitely. We used to work in like Mordland College all the time. We had the contract there.
So we used to work on some like buck and air pictures. It's worked on all types of trees really. Have you seen the big fucker that's, is it Mordland? The real big fucker in the grounds of that.
Probably. It's the one college, I think it is Mordland, but the one college just got like the river kind of, you've got to walk around it. Yeah, yeah. You got the stags in there.
Yeah, we did all of those trees. Wow. So yeah, there's a tree there. So on that loop, some of the trees we take down, we turn into like stump seats, like a chair.
One of them on the back has got minas, she was in it. And other people's, but we all did that. Nice. Definitely.
I've seen that. Nice. Yeah, loads and we used to leave a lot of the branches. We used to throw the conkers not at the deer, but we used to throw the conkers at the deer's because they eat them.
They eat all the trees, a lot of the trees. I don't know if that's supposed to be conkers, but they fucking ate your shit. I think they can eat anything. We've actually got a little munchjaku comes into our garden.
Nice. I've been coming through our gate, like I second gate. We've got a close to my back door. He's just there eating these berries.
Chillin. Can I move? I'm not moving towards it. I'm not moving towards it.
I'm not moving at him. He doesn't move at all. He just keeps eating. Not fazed by me at all.
I'm just wondering if people do feed him or her. Right. Just because I've seen it all at like so many times, it isn't really, I mean, those are not threat. Yeah, not generally.
Yeah. So, they eat everything, don't they? Yeah. Yeah, that's cool.
Yeah, I mean, it's one of those. I always thought that the deer would be the one animal I could definitely kill. But when you see them, they're quite, they're nicer animal. Not to say they've got like more behind them.
It's actually a monkjack as well, man. Yeah, they're quite cute, isn't they? It's something different, but you don't really see anything like that here. But I suppose you wouldn't really, yeah, it's more like a Pokemon, isn't it?
Yeah. But yeah, you wouldn't really shoot a monkjack down to eat. Would you? Yeah, unless you was desperate or something, you'd just go, you'd search a bit harder to find a bigger deer or something.
Yeah. Yeah. You'd find a real one. Yeah.
Monkjack, you'd feel bad there too. You could have a pet one could do. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So I could dole greatly.
I think that's a pet moose. Which I think there are people who have pet mooses. It has a thing. That's mad.
Yeah. Probably more in like Russia or something. Yeah. But yeah.
I do like a moose mate. I do like a moose. I've got a lot of respect to moose. They're a special animal, I think.
They're up there. Yeah. You wouldn't really want to come face to face with a moose as well. I'd love to see one from, you know, I haven't seen a moose since I come here on a holiday.
I ain't seen one since, I don't think. I've only seen a moose in, might have been in Finland, but in a sanctuary sort of thing. It's not seeing a moose. Quite rare.
You've got to be out there to see them. Yeah. We don't hang around by the roads. A couple of the old boys at work fucking hunt moose.
Nice. Some of them do that. Apparently it's some of the better taste in sort of meat apparently. Well, it's got to be close to Elkend, surely.
Apparently it's way better. Really? Yeah. See them.
Yeah. Apparently it's a nice thing. You know, yeah. Being a moose hunter, that'd be a, then again, would you want to be a moose hunter?
I think I'd rather just be a standard deer hunter rather than. I think it'd be something maybe you've got to try once. But I think it's something that some people, you know, you try years and years and years for. Yeah.
Yeah. You might not ever even see it. And they will eat it. I'm sure.
Oh yeah. It's going to last you pretty much a whole year. It's not like those people, the big game hunters that go to Africa, just shoot the lion in the face, just have the picture next to them. I mean, if there was one animal meat that you could hunt, which one would it be?
You know what I mean? I can't really talk about just sounding like a rope cunt. You said like a bike rider or something. No, no, not that bad.
Tiger. No, no, not even that bad meat. But probably a mix between a bear, not a gozler. I've just go for a bike rider.
And probably more just because I haven't seen it really bad. I'd love to hunt a mountain lion. Nice. I thought you were going to say panda or something.
Listeners, please. We're not joking about this stuff. Obviously we fucking love animals. We'd never, you know, be into shooting any fucking rare or nice animals.
I mean, any other fucking. Yeah, definitely not. But if someone was a panda hunter, that is quite funny. Like, because the pandas are the nicest level things rolling around towards you.
And then you can fucking shotgun in the face. Got him. It's like, what were the animals that just didn't, like, you go into the island and they would just come up to you. I don't think I've got like a natural predator.
So there's like some sort of bird or something like a rodent or something. It kind of, if you go, they don't fear you because they've never seen you. So you could just go and just. Round them all up.
Round them up. I'm putting a big oven. I wonder how long it would take before they start fearing. Probably quite quick, really.
I'm wondering if it would make up like a fucking dodo. They might have been, they might have got to think of the same sort of reason they didn't really have anything. We just, we don't cook them up. We just go.
Yeah, I don't know. Eat all of those. I was watching a, fuck, I forgot his name. English old boy does a lot for like BBC to do with like animals and travelling that.
For those names. Good old boy. And he was going to like, just going around islands that you could sell to. I'm saying they're all around the UK.
Let's just say that they are. A lot of them are like Scottish islands and shit like that. And like remote kind of like ones that are like barely in the UK. So there's one island and they're all from like, I don't really want to put a date on it.
But like, probably just around like the early 1900s. Let's just say, give or take 50 years as well. And like, obviously there was no, whenever there weren't no commercial cars on that on the road. So like, you weren't getting many people cars.
So anyone really lived on the coast. They just got around on boats because boats been around for fucking ages. So all these people go to islands and all they're doing is basically trying to figure out ways making money and basically to stay alive back then. So a lot of islands were taken over around like the top Scotland in places.
Savage, savage, you know, places to get to as well. They all had really high coastals and they were all covered with birds because obviously these are like sea birds. They're all fucking eating fish and that. And they ain't going anywhere inland because they ain't going to get the fish.
And so they all live on these rocks. So these people live coming these islands. Yeah, see there, you know, with your family or whoever you're working with, you dang on each other, tying each other up with their open, going over the edge of these like two, three hundred foot cliffs. And they're just basically catching these birds and young birds and eggs and all that.
And just eventually over a large period of time, wiping a lot of these birds out. So I don't know if some of these islands probably have like the dodos or some like, but type of birds like that. That's what, that's what people go and you know, that's what the resources were back then, right? Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no.
So I'm going over. Someone's going over. So fucking hell. Yeah, that's heavy.
Yeah, people are going to eat whatever they are, I guess. And they're going to eat the most, the easiest resource. Like really, you can't blame them back then as well. Probably didn't really think about the extincting.
Yeah, you wouldn't give a fuck would you? Because if you don't do it, you're watching. It's really, but they're nice. It's a little Christmas capture.
