115: Small Living & Sustainable Design with Curtis and Christina

from Holistic Interior Design Podcast

This week’s episode is a replay that’s taking us back to Episode 14, Small Living & Sustainable Design with Curtis and Christina Micklish. I want to highlight this episode again because of the important discussion we have around sustainability. We talk about how to make small spaces both beautiful and functional (which Curtis and Christina do very well) and about the specific choices we can make when building or remodeling homes to reduce our overall footprint and protect our environment. Even if you listened to this episode when it first aired, there’s so much we cover in this episode that I’m sure you’ll find something new to inspire you the second time around! Plus, this is an important topic that we can all benefit from a regular refresh on.About Christina & CurtisAgainst their Real Estate agent's advice, Christina and Curtis bought a fixer with "good bones" 3 years into their unwed relationship. A 5 year renovation turned into 9 with the two realizing that 1,700 sq. ft. on nearly an acre of land was not the life they hoped for. They wanted a life of less that offered freedom to experience more. Letting it all go to live in a 425 sq. ft. Hillcrest treehouse made Curtis' recent project, Cayuca, an attainable and sustainable concept.Featured in this episodeFeatured deck: Inner Compass CardsFeatured candle: Mithras CandleFeatured beverage: Nova Kombucha - Watermelon Lime, Little Dragon TeaCurtis also references Our Breath Collective as part of his regular practice.Connect with Christina & CurtisWebsites:Mollismollis.comUrbanistguide.comMicklish.comCayucahillcrest.comInstagram:@christinamicklish @urbanistguide @micklishstudioAre you an interior designer or are you interested in Holistic Interior Design?
